Huawei MatePad Pro 11 launched with 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 888+, and more


In the past few months, Huawei has been active in the smartphone market as they’ve released many new smartphones and other smart accessories. Now, Huawei has launched the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 as its latest product in the tablet market.


The Huawei MatePad Pro 11 comes in as the successor to the Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8″ (2021) that was launched in the previous year. When compared to its predecessor, the MatePad Pro 11 (2022) comes with a better display, a more powerful processor, a bigger battery, faster charging, and more memory & storage.

The MatePad Pro 11 (2022) comes with a large OLED display with a 120Hz high refresh rate, a big battery with fast charging, a flagship processor, and decent camera performance. It is going to be a great option for anyone that wants to get a relatively affordable tablet so far it is available in their region.


In this article, I’ll share with you everything you need to know about the newly released Huawei MatePad Pro 11 (2022). Without wasting much of our time, let’s get right into it.

The MatePad Pro 11 is packed with some high-end specs and features that we’ll go through now.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G (5nm) chipset or Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G (7nm) chipset depending on the model you go for. It has 3D graphene and a vapor chamber to take heat away from the chipset so it is cool therefore sustaining high performance over a longer period of time.
It will come with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB or 512GB of fast UFS 3.1 internal storage. There is no support for storage expansion.


Upfront, there is an 11-inch OLED display that has a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels with 274 PPI density and a 16 by 10 aspect ratio. The display has a 10-bit panel so it can display up to 1 billion colors and it is also color accurate with deltaE < 1. As for brightness, it can go up to 600 nits and it also has a 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio.
This is also the first tablet to be fully certified for TÜV Rheinland’s new Full Care Display 3.0.

The design of the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is also top notch as Huawei claims that it is the world’s thinnest and lightest 11-inch tablet, measuring just 5.9mm and weighing 449g. This makes it easy to hold in the hands for a long period of time. The rear panel has a frosted finish that helps to reduce fingerprint smudges and also prevents easy scratches. It is available in a Golden Black color.

On the software front, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 (2022) runs on HarmonyOS 3.0 straight out of the box. Over the years, the Chinese company has fine-tuned the user experience of HarmonyOS, and now, it has many lovely features.
There is now a feature called Card Folder to help with widgets and a new multitasking UI so you can use two apps side by side as well as two floating app bubbles.
Also, Huawei’s AppGallery now has more than 200,000 apps on it, with it also being available on supported Windows computers.

On the inside, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 is backed by an 8,300 mAh non-removable battery that Huawei says will give up to 11.5 hours of video playback. As for charging, there is support for 66W SuperCharge on the SD888 model or 40W fast charging on the SD870 model. It will ship with a 40W charger and 22.5W chargers for the two models respectively so you need to get a new specific adapter to enjoy the high charging speeds support.


Coming to the cameras, many tablets don’t always try to impress and that doesn’t change.
There is a dual rear camera setup that features a 13MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture & AutoFocus and an 8MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera tucked in a tiny punch-hole cutout at the top right corner.

As for connectivity, there is optional 4G LTE support with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 (or 5.1 for the SD870 model), and a USB-C 3.1 port. For audio, there are 6 speakers on the phone comprising four woofers and two tweeters so you get a fantastic audio experience when gaming or watching movies. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5 mm headphone jack


Huawei MatePad`s Accessories

To use a tablet to its full potential, you need to have some smart accessories and Huawei also launched some alongside the new tablet.

  • Huawei-Smart-Magnetic-Keyboard

First, there is a new Huawei M-Pencil that offers an enhanced writing experience and better grip whilst also being available in a new White color.
The last one is a new Magnetic Smart Keyboard that is detachable with a kickstand that can adjust from 120° to 165°. It also has a slot to hold the new M-Pencil. Also, Huawei says that this keyboard case can help you improve Wi-Fi reception as it has a built-in antenna that will become a Wi-Fi amplifier.

As of launch, the Huawei MatePad Pro 11 price starts at $489 (CNY 3,300) for the base 8GB 128GB model and it will go up to $1142 (CNY 7,700) for the 12GB 512GB model with the M-Pencil and Smart Magnetic Keyboard included.
