Vivo is one of China’s popular technology companies and it is known for manufacturing smartphones, smart accessories, and other consumer electronics. With the absence of Huawei in the global market, other Chinese tech companies like Vivo have been able to grow big and reach higher heights. Vivo is known for making smartphones that are stacked with great features and are also relatively affordable to offer great value. Vivo has released the Vivo V21, and it will come in as one of the latest additions to the mid-range Vivo V-series.

The Vivo V21 was launched alongside its siblings the Vivo V21 5G and Vivo V21e. The V21 is perfectly placed in the middle as it is more premium than the V21e but misses out on some premium features that the V21 5G has. When looking at the Vivo V21 specs, you will see that it is a solid mid-range smartphone as it is packed with some high-end features.
The Vivo V21 comes in as the successor to the Vivo V20 which was launched a couple of months ago in the previous year. When compared to its predecessor, the V21 comes with a better overall camera system and a superior display.
In this article, I’ll share with you the Vivo V21 specs, price, and review as well as everything else you need to know about the newly released smartphone. Hopefully, this will help you make any purchase decisions. Let us get right into today’s article without wasting much of our time.

The Vivo V21 sports a large 6.44 inches E3 AMOLED display that has an FHD resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with 409 pixels per inch density and a 20 by 9 aspect ratio. It has a tiny waterdrop notch at the top center with very small bezels around the screen. It has a contrast ratio of 6000000:1 so the screen displays deep blacks and very punchy colors.
The display has a 90Hz high refresh rate so users get a smooth and silky experience when scrolling or gaming. As for brightness, it has a typical brightness of 500 nits and it can go up to a peak of 800 nits under extreme sunlight. To enhance the viewing experience, there is support for HDR10+ and full coverage of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut.
Design and Body
The design has never been the primary concern of most manufacturers when making mid-range smartphones but Vivo turned that around with the Vivo V21

The phone comes in a nice slim and light weighted body and the Chinese company day that this is a prime example of artistic industrial design. It has a thickness of 7.29 mm and weighs about 176 grams, making it a perfectly sleek and lightweight smartphone.
On the rear, there is an anti-glare glass with a matte finish which makes the phone feel comfortable in the hands. It is scratch resistant, increases grip, and reduces fingerprint smudges. At the rear, there is the triple camera setup in a bump at the top left with Vivo’s branding being at the bottom left.
The side frame is flat which is quite similar to the approach Apple took for the iPhone 12 series. It makes the phone also look trendy and sleek.
Processor and Memory
Under the hood, the Vivo V21 draws its power from the octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset. It has two Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.4 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. It is built on a 7nm fabrication process which makes the chip more power efficient and less prone to thermal throttling.
The chipset is paired with the Mali-G57 MC3 GPU which offers a decent performance when gaming and performing other graphics-intensive tasks.

The processor is coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of fast UFS 2.2 internal storage with a shared micro SD card slot for expanding the storage. As apps and games are becoming more memory hungry, Vivo adds the Extended RAM feature which adds up to 3GB of RAM using free internal storage space.
Software
On the software front, the Vivo V21 comes running on Android 11 OS with Funtouch OS 11.1 skin on top straight out of the box.
Camera
Coming to the camera department, the Vivo V21 is not lacking at all as there is a triple rear camera setup and a single front-facing camera with both of them having OIS.
The triple rear camera setup features a 64MP main camera with OIS & f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture.

There is a 44MP selfie camera with OIS & f/2.0 aperture tucked in a water drop notch at the top center.
As for video recording, the selfie camera can record videos in 4K resolution and 1080p resolution at 30 fps while the rear camera can record 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080 videos at 30 or 60 fps. Unfortunately, when recording 4K videos on the selfie or rear camera, OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) can’t be enabled so the output will not be as stabilized as when OIS was enabled.
Battery and Charging
On the inside, the Vivo V21 is backed by a 4,000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery.
When the battery eventually runs low, there is support for 33W fast charging on the phone via its USB Type-C port. Vivo claims that with it, the phone will go from 0% to 63% in only 30 minutes of charging.
Network and Connectivity
There is support for 4G LTE network on the Vivo V21 and it supports the following LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 39, 40, & 41.

It comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.1 (A2DP, LE), GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS), and USB On-The-Go.
Vivo V21 Price
