Qualcomm has unveiled the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 which comes in as an improved version of the SD 7 Gen 3. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 is designed for top mid-range smartphones and here is everything you need to know about it.

With this chipset, Generative AI finally makes its way to the Snapdragon 7 series. There is support for a wide range of LLMs with Gemini Nano, and Llama 2, being part of them.
Qualcomm says that the new AI features should bring efficiency to different tasks. It is also expected to improve the quality of virtual assistants significantly.
Now, let’s move on to the hardware. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 has a 1+4+3 setup. The prime core is a Cortex-X4 clocked at 2.8 GHz, it is paired with 4 performance and 3 efficiency cores clocked at 2.6 GHz and 1.9 GHz. The performance cores use the Cortex A720 while the efficiency cores are the Cortex A520.
The chipset is now built on a 4nm node process, and it brings about a 5% reduction in power consumption.
This new setup is estimated to give a 15% increase in CPU performance. Qualcomm didn’t go into much detail about the GPU but they estimate a 45% improvement in graphics performance.
As for display prowess, it supports 4K resolution at 60 Hz, QHD+ resolution at 120 Hz, and a variable refresh rate of 1 – 240 Hz at lower resolutions.
The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 comes with support for up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and it supports fast UFS 4.0 storage.
As for connectivity, Qualcomm equips the chipset with the Snapdragon X63 5G modem. It brings the FastConnect 7800 system and can reach up to 4.2 Gbps download on its 5G network.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset is expected to be unveiled in a smartphone very soon. OnePlus, Realme, and Sharp are some brands that have been name-dropped to make this happen.
