Infinix Mobile is a popular Chinese technology company based in Hong Kong. It was founded in 2013 by Transsion Holdings and it is known for making affordable smartphones and smart accessories for everyone. The company focuses on the African and Asian markets, they are quite a force to reckon with in those places due to their affordable and highly competitive prices. Infinix Mobile has launched the Infinix Hot 10i as another addition to the Hot 10 series.
The Infinix Hot 10i comes in as one of the successors of the previous Hot 9 series that was launched a couple of months ago. Being the successor, the Hot 10i comes with lots of improvements over the Hot 9 and it still manages to be as affordable as its predecessor.
The Hot series is made of budget-friendly smartphones and the Infinix Hot 10i is another affordable smartphone that even those on a budget can afford to get easily without breaking the bank. The phone comes with a large display, a decent processor, and a monstrous battery that happens to be its major selling point.
In this article, I’ll share everything you need to know about the Infinix Hot 10i, its full specifications, price, and review. Hopefully, this will help you out if you have to make any purchase decisions. Now, let’s get right into it.
Infinix Hot 10i Key Specs
- 6.52 inches HD+ IPS LCD display
- MediaTek Helio G70 SoC
- 3GB – 6GB of RAM
- 32GB – 128GB of internal storage
- 13MP + QVGA dual rear camera
- 5MP front-facing camera
- 6,000 mAh non-removable battery
- 18W fast charging
- Android 11 with XOS 7.5
- 4G LTE network support
- Rear-mounted fingerprint sensor
Coming to the display, the Infinix Hot 10i sports a large 6.52 inches display that features an IPS LCD panel with an HD resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and 269 pixels per inch density. As for brightness, the display has a peak brightness of 500 nits and that can be easily reached if you use it in bright sunlight outdoors.
The display has the trendy water drop notch at the top center which helps to house the selfie camera. It also manages to give the phone a better aesthetic. The bezels around the display are quite noticable. Also, there is no branded protection glass so you have to get a tempered glass screen protector.
These are not major deal breakers as they are quite expected of an entry-level smartphone.
Design and Body
The design of the Infinix Hot 10i is nothing spectacular as it even has similar designs to the other smartphones in the Infinix Hot 10 series.
The phone has a full plastic body with a plastic rear and a plastic frame. This helps to keep costs low whilst also guaranteeing high durability and fewer fingerprint smudges. The plastic back has some stripe lining across it which helps to give a beautiful look and also provides enough grip to prevent accidental slips from the hand.
The rear panel houses the dual-camera setup, Infinix’s branding, and a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. You’d find the power button and volume rockers on the right side. Across the other sides, you’d find the speaker grille, SIM & SD card slot, charging port, and mic.
Processor and Memory
Under the hood, the Infinix Hot 10i draws its power from the gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G70 (12nm) chipset designed for budget-friendly smartphones. In some regions, you may not get this chipset due to Infinix’s decision.
The octa-core chipset features two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz. The chipset is paired with the Mali G52 MC2 GPU that should offer you a decent performance in many games and graphics-intensive tasks.
The processor is paired with 3GB or 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There’s a dedicated micro SD card slot so you can decide to expand the storage if need be.
To further improve performance, Infinix has introduced a feature called Dar-link Ultimate Game Booster that in theory should provide a bit more power while gaming.
On the software front, the Infinix Hot 10i runs on Android 11 with XOS 7.5 skin on top straight out of the box. With XOS, you get more UI modifications as well as more customization features so you can tweak it to your taste.
Coming to the camera, the Infinix Hot 10i comes with a dual rear camera setup that features a 13MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and a QVGA secondary camera. The second camera here is just for nothing as it performs no work. The rear camera can record videos in 2K resolution at 30 frames per second.
On the front, there is a 5MP camera tucked in the water drop notch for all your selfie and video chat needs.
Just like any entry-level smartphone, the Hot 10i takes decent photos and videos when you’re in a proper light environment but outside of that, it’ll struggle.
Battery and Charging
Coming to the battery which is the top-selling point of the Infinix Hot 10i, it packs a massive 6,000 mAh non-removable battery. According to Infinix, this battery should last you 18 hours while gaming and up to 67 hours while calling.
As for charging, there is support for 18W fast charging. It features the outdated micro USB port for charging which is not good as USB-C should be the standard.
Network and Connectivity
There is support for 4G LTE network on the Infinix Hot 10i and if the phone is sold officially in your country, it should support the local network bands.
As for connectivity, it comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, and FM Radio.
Infinix Hot 10i Price
The Infinix Hot 10i price starts at $90 for the 3GB 32GB model and it goes all the way up to $140 for the 6GB 128GB model.
Infinix Hot 10i Review
The Infinix Hot 10i is a really good entry-level smartphone with some really good features like the processor and battery. It is also priced competitively. However, it is let down by some poor choices in the camera, display, and charging department.
