Oppo is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer known for making great high-end smartphones as well as nice budget-friendly ones, the Oppo A-series is one of the latter. The Oppo A56 5G was launched silently in China, and it comes as the successor to the previous A55 5G that was launched early this year. Despite being considered as a successor, there’s nothing much to distinguish between the two devices. In this article, we’ll go through the price and specs of the newly launched Oppo A56 5G.

The Oppo A56 5G is priced at CNY 1,599 ($250) in China and is up for reservations. There’s no information about global pricing and availability yet.

The Oppo A56 5G features a 6.5 inches IPS LCD display that has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels and 270 PPI density with a typical brightness of 480 nits. The screen is covered by Panda or Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
As stated in the title, the A56 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G which has a max clock speed of 2.2 GHz coupled with the Mali G57 MC2 GPU. It comes with only 6GB of RAM and 128GB of fast UFS 2.x storage with micro SD card support. It comes running on Color OS 11.1 based on Android 11.


As for the camera, there is a dual-camera setup on the rear of the Oppo A56 5G and it features a 13MP main camera alongside a 2MP depth camera. On the front is an 8MP selfie camera tucked in the waterdrop notch. Both the selfie and rear cameras can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.


Also, the A56 5G comes with a huge 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W charging speeds via its USB Type C port. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner on the power button for biometric security as well as face unlock. And as a plus, it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
As for connectivity, there’s support for a 5G network, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.1, and GPS on the Oppo A56 5G.
