Samsung, the South Korean technology giant has launched the Galaxy Tab A8 10.5 (2021) as a refresh to its affordable Galaxy Tab A lineup. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 10.5″ (2021) is the successor to the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 (2020) and it comes with lots of new features including a faster processor and larger display. Upfront, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 (2021) sports a 10.5 inches LCD display that has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The screen has a 16 by 10 aspect ratio which makes it have more vertical space for studying and multitasking. It has support for Drag & Split which rolled out to 2020 Galaxy flagships earlier this year.

The tablet is not for work and studying only as Samsung packs it with Samsung TV Plus which lets you stream 200+ free channels. However, Samsung TV Plus is only available in selected regions so if it is not available in yours, you can benefit from the 2 months of YouTube Premium for free. The Tab A8 has four Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers for an immersive audio experience while gaming and watching movies.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2021) is powered by an unnamed octa-core chipset with a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz running on Android 11 with One UI. According to Samsung, this new chipset offers a 10% boost in CPU and GPU performance when compared to its predecessor. It is paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB or 128GB of internal storage with micro SD card support. The configurations are 3GB 32GB, 4GB 64GB, and 4GB 128GB.

As for the camera, there’s a 5MP front-facing camera for video calls and an 8MP rear camera with Auto Focus for videos and photos.

Both have Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5. Wired connectivity includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a USB-C 2.0 port (so no DeX support, that’s only for S-series devices).
