OnePlus Buds Z2 launched with ANC and longer battery life

OnePlus has launched the OnePlus Buds Z2 which is the successor to the Buds Z that was launched sometime last year. The Buds Z2 comes with some significant upgrades including longer battery life and active noise cancellation but it still looks exactly like the original version. In this article, we go through the OnePlus Buds Z2 price and features. Without further ado, let’s get right into it.

OnePlus Buds Z2 Price and Availability

The OnePlus Buds Z2 is priced at $99 in the US and €99 in Europe. It is going on sale as of today so you can buy it at OnePlus’s official website. For now, it is offered in Pearl White color. It will be offered in Obsidian Black color sometime next year.

OnePlus Buds Z2 Features

First, let’s talk about the main highlight of this affordable true wireless earbud which is Active Noise Cancellation. The OnePlus Buds Z2 has 3 mics that help to facilitate noise and wind reduction. If you need to be aware of your surroundings, there is Transparency Mode which cuts off the ANC for a moment.
As expected, the Buds Z2 is IP55 certified so it is water and sweat-resistant.

As for battery life, OnePlus promises 5 hours of non-stop playback with ANC on and 7 hours of non-stop playback with ANC off. So if you need more battery, you can turn off ANC and save up to 2 hours.
When the OnePlus Buds Z2 eventually runs down, the charging case packs a 520 mAh cell that charges via its USB-C port. The charging case supports Flash Charge so it can provide enough juice to the buds for 5-hour-long playback in just 10 minutes.

The OnePlus Buds Z2 comes with the same 11mm dynamic drivers that were found in the more expensive OnePlus Buds Pro so you can expect similar sound quality. It also has support for Dolby Atmos.
As for connectivity, it comes with Bluetooth 5.2 and fast connection for OnePlus phones.

Just like most TWS manufacturers, OnePlus has its app called HeyMelody. You can use it to tune the settings of the Buds Z2 when connected to an iPhone or a non-OnePlus made phone. If you have a OnePlus-made phone, you may not need the app as OnePlus offers better integration by default.
