Gigaset GS5 officially launched officially with Helio G85 SoC and a removable battery

Gigaset Communications is a German-based smartphone manufacturer. You may not have heard of them but they are a former division of Siemens and have released a range of rugged and mid-range smartphones. The Gigaset GS5 has been launched and it is the German-based smartphone manufacturer’s latest phone. In this article, we’ll go through everything you need to know about the Gigaset GS5.


Gigaset GS5 Price and Availability

The Gigaset GS5 is priced at €299 which is equivalent to $346 at present rates. It is available in two colors which are dark titanium grey and light purple.

The design of the Gigaset GS5 is interestingly curved with flush rear cameras and a detachable back. When you open the back, it will reveal the SIM slot, SD card slot, and the removable 4,500 mAh battery.


As for connectivity, it comes with Wi-Fi 5, 4G LTE network, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5 mm audio jack, GPS, NFC, and a USB-C with OTG support port for charging and data transfer.

The Gigaset GS5 comes with a 6.3-inch IPS LCD that has an FHD+ resolution with 410 PPI density. It has a waterdrop notch and has a notification LED at the top bezel.
There’s a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and face unlock for biometric authentication.


Under the hood, the Gigaset GS5 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 (12nm) SoC coupled with the Mali G52 MC2 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with a micro SD card slot for storage expansion of up to 500GB. On the software front, the Gigaset GS5 runs Android 11, and Gigaset guarantees an upgrade to Android 12 down the line with 3 years of security updates.


On the rear is a dual-camera setup that features a 48MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and an 8MP ultrawide camera with Auto Focus so it can double as a macro camera. The rear camera can record videos at up to 1440p resolution. On the front, is a 16MP selfie camera tucked in the waterdrop notch at the top.
