Poco is a sub-brand of Redmi, and the company is known for its relatively affordable smartphones across different segments. Keeping up with that mantra, the company has launched the Poco C65 which comes in as the successor to the Poco C55. This is also the latest addition to the Poco C series which is known for cheap entry-level smartphones.

Poco C65 Features

The Poco C65 got a couple of upgrades over its predecessor, and those improvements are the first things I will discuss today.

With the first upgrade being in the display department, the phone comes with a 6.74 inches IPS LCD display and it now has a 90 Hz high refresh rate. It has a 720p resolution which is not really encouraging but it goes a bit bright with a max brightness of 600 nits. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, and there is a tiny waterdrop cutout at the top centre. Another good thing here is the TUV certification and support for DC dimming.

The next upgrade comes in the camera department, upfront, there is now an 8MP camera for all your selfies, a notable step up from the 5MP before. On the rear, there is still a dual setup with the main camera being a 50MP f/1.8 sensor and the secondary being a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor.

Under the hood, the Poco C65 is powered by the 12nm MediaTek Helio G85 processor which was touted as a gaming chipset but is now old. The chipset should run most simple tasks without any hiccups but running more intensive tasks is where you’ll notice its flaws. The processor is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM which is great for an entry-level smartphone. As for storage, there are two options: 128GB or 256GB, one downside is still the use of eMMC instead of the faster UFS.

The Poco C65 comes with a huge 5,000 mAh non-removable Li-Polymer battery. Now, it has support for 18W fast charging – a step up from the 10W of its predecessor. Also, charging and data transfer are now via a new USB-C port (upgraded from micro USB). There is also a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The phone comes with a 4G LTE connection, Bluetooth 5, and Wi-Fi 5.
As for color options, you can get the phone in black, blue, or purple.
