Vivo is a popular Chinese technology company known for its smartphones, smart accessories, and other consumer electronics. Vivo is also known for its smartphones being relatively affordable and providing a good value for money. The Vivo Y22s has been launched and it will be one of the new additions to the affordable Vivo Y series.

Upfront, the Vivo Y22s sports a 6.55-inch IPS LCD display that has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and 270 PPI density. It has a 20 by 9 aspect ratio with a water drop notch at the top and quite noticable bezels around the sides. There is no high refresh rate on this panel which is kind of a setback.
As for design, the phone surprisingly has a quite attractive look and it comes in a full plastic body with the rear camera setup in a square bump on the rear panel. The power button on the side also doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The phone is IPX4 and IP5X certified so it can withstand a bit of water and dust.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y22s is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 4G chipset. It is built on a 6nm fabrication process and has a maximum clock speed of 2.4 GHz with the Adreno 610 GPU.
The phone comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot. As for software, it comes running on Android 12 with Funtouch 12 OS on top.
Coming to the cameras, the phone has a dual rear system that features a 50MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture & PDAF and a 2MP macro camera.
On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Both the selfie and rear camera can record videos in up to 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
On the inside, the Vivo Y22s is backed by a 5,000 mAh non-removable battery that has support for 18W fast charging via its USB Type-C port. Vivo says the fast charger will take the phone from 0% to 70% in 70 minutes of charging.
Vivo Y22s Price and Availability
The Vivo Y22s price starts at $255 (VND 5,990,000) which is quite affordable for a lot of people. It was unveiled in Vietnam and there has been no information on availability in other countries and regions.
