Infinix Mobility has released the Infinix Zero 6 after more than 1 year of waiting as the successor to the Infinix Zero 5 and Infinix Zero 5 Pro. The Infinix Zero 6 was launched alongside the Infinix Zero 6 Pro which is the more premium variant. Infinix calls this smartphone a “flagship” but compared with other smartphones, it’s just a mere mid-range smartphone. In this article, I’ll be doing a review of the Infinix Zero 6 in 2020. Infinix Zero 6 Key Specs

Design and Body

The Infinix “flagship” smartphone has a 2.5D on the front and back, the glass is said to be a Corning Gorilla Glass but the version is not specified. The phone has a gradient skin which gives it an attractive look. The phone has the famous U-notch which debuted on the iPhone X, you can hide the notch if you’re not a fan. The phone rear houses the dual camera, a LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for security. The phone weighs 178 grams and has a thickness of 8 mm.



Display

The Infinix Zero 6 sports a 6.2 inches IPS LCD display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080×2160 pixels and 400 pixels per inch density. The 1080p panel promises a crisp and clear display good for watching movies and playing games. The phone screen is protected by an unspecified version of Corning Gorilla Glass.

Processor and Memory

This Infinix “flagship” smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.8 GHz coupled with Adreno 509 GPU. This Snapdragon processor is a mid-range processor.
The phone comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage if the need arises.

Camera

Regarding the camera, the Infinix Zero 6 has a dual rear camera which features a 12MP camera and a 24MP camera. The cameras have AI technology that is capable of object and scene recognition. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
At the front, there’s a 20MP AI selfie camera for your selfie needs and video calls.

Network and Connectivity

Infinix Zero 6 comes with support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps when downloading and browsing. The phone has support for the following 4G LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41.
The phone comes with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi 5, WiFi Direct, GPS, FM Radio and WiFi hotspot.

Battery and Charging

The battery on the Infinix Zero 6 is a 3,650 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery. The battery is not huge but is expected to last you throughout the day. As for charging, it has Infinix Xcharge fast charging feature so you’ll spend less time when charging.

Software

The Infinix Zero 6 runs on Android 8 Oreo with Infinix XOS skin on top. We expected it to come with Android 9 Pie because it was released months after Android 9 was launched. Till now, there is no OTA update to a higher Android version.

The Infinix Zero 6 used to be a good phone but in 2020, the Infinix Zero 6 is not worth buying because of its outdated specs. The Zero 6 runs on Android 8 which is an old Android version so you’ll have a compatibility issue with some apps. As at now, there are several better and more recent smartphones in the same price range as the Infinix Zero 6.
