Cricket alongside Samsung has just released the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime 3 smartphone. It is a mid-range smartphone with fairly good specs and features. Design and Body
The design of the new Galaxy Amp Prime 3 is nothing spectacular but it looks very good. It comes in a plastic body. The phone has a thickness of 8.9 mm and it weighs about 152 grams (including the battery). It is also available in only one color which is Black.
Coming to the display, the Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime 3 sports a 5.0 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and 294 pixels per inch density. Sadly, there’s no screen protection of any kind so it’ll be prone to scratches.
Processor and Memory
The Galaxy Amp Prime 3 is powered by the Exynos 7570 quad-core processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The Exynos quad-core processor features the Mali T720 GPU in charge of graphics and gaming.
The phone comes with 2GB and 16GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage if need be. You can add up to 400GB of storage using a micro SD card.
Coming to the camera department, there’s a single 8 megapixels rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and AutoFocus. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
At the front, we have a 5 megapixels camera for taking selfies and video calls. It can also record 1080p videos at up to 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
The Galaxy Amp Prime 3 comes with a 2,600 mAh Li-Ion removable battery. The battery is not that huge but it should be able to last you up to a day if you’re an average user. As for charging, the phone has a micro USB port for charging. It doesn’t support fast charging at all.
Network and Connectivity
This phone has support for 4G LTE network which lets you have high internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps when downloading. It comes with WiFi, WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and FM radio. Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime 3 is only available on Cricket Wireless.
Samsung Galaxy Amp Prime 3 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box and it is upgradeable to Android 9 Pie using OTA update.
