Samsung, the South Korean technology giants have released the Samsung Galaxy S10 which is the 10th iteration of the Samsung Galaxy S flagship family. The flagship smartphone was launched in February 2019 at Samsung’s first event of the year to mark the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy S series. It was launched alongside side other members of the S10 family which are Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10e. The phone comes with all the new top features like the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, new Infinity O display, the latest flagship processor and Samsung’s latest software.

Design
The Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a totally new and different design, the phone has an all-screen design with an infinity display. The phone does not have any notch to house the selfie camera and sensors like the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. However, it has a cutout at the top right corner of the display which houses the front camera. The front is bezels less at the top and bottom. It has a larger display than its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S9 but actually, it is just 2mm taller than it. The phone is very much slim with it having a 7.8mm thickness, it also weighs 157 grams.

Body and Build
The phone body is made using a mixture of aluminium and glass where you have the Corning Gorilla Glass 6 at the back, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the front and an aluminium frame.
The Galaxy S10 has IP68 certification which means it is water and dust resistant.
At the back, you’d find the triple camera setup only, I know you must be thinking where then is the fingerprint sensor, let me tell you, it has an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor that uses soundwaves to capture 3D representation of every part of your fingers. And it even works when the screen is off.

Display
The Samsung Galaxy S10 features an amazing 6.1 inches Dynamic AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution of 1440p and 550 pixels per inch density. The QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display promises a deep black and crisp and clear view. The phone also supports HDR10 and HDR10+, it still has the always-on display feature.
Processor
Samsung still offers two different processors depending on your region. The Samsung Galaxy S10 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor in the United States and China while the rest of the world Galaxy S10 will be powered by the Exynos 9820 processor.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 is an octa-core processor which features 1 core clocked at 2.84 GHz, 3 cores clocked at 2.42 GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.78 GHz with Adreno 640 GPU. The Exynos 9820 is also an octa-core processor which features 2 cores clocked at 2.73 GHz, 2 cores clocked at 2.31 GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.94 GHz with Mali G76 MP12 GPU.
The Snapdragon processor is built on a 7nm fabrication process while the Exynos processor is built on a 8nm fabrication process.
Memory and Storage
Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with 8GB of RAM (LPDDR4X) and is coupled with either 128GB or 512GB(UFS 2.1) built-in storage. You will have a micro SD card slot on the dual SIM model only. You can add an additional 512GB using a micro SD card.
Camera
Samsung has introduced a triple rear camera setup on the Galaxy S10. The rear camera features a 12MP wide sensor with OIS, dual pixel PDAF and an aperture ranging from f/1.5 to f/2.4, a 12MP telephoto sensor with 2X optical zoom and a 16MP ultrawide sensor. The rear camera can record 4K videos up to 60 fps, 1080p videos up to 240 fps and 720p videos up to 960 fps.
On the front, there’s a 10MP camera sensor housed in the O cutout with f/1.9 aperture and dual-pixel PDAF which can record 4K videos at up to 60 fps.
Network and Connectivity
Galaxy S10 comes with support for all global LTE bands(Cat20) and also supports up to 2000 Mbps when downloading and 150 Mbps when uploading. It has support for the following 4G band on the global version: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 66.
It has support for dual-band WiFi 6, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and WLAN hotspot. Below the chin of this phone, there’s a USB 3.1 type C reversible connector and a 3.5 mm audio jack which most flagships tend to forget.
Battery and Charging
Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a 3,400 non-removable Li-Ion battery. The battery on this phone is a good upgrade over its predecessor so you should expect some improvement in the battery life.
As for charging, the phone supports fast charging (up to 15W) and also fast wireless charging(up to 15W) so you’ll spend very much less time when charging.
Software
Samsung Galaxy S10 runs on the new One UI out of the box. Built on Android 9 Pie, the One UI focuses on making it quite easy for one-handed use for the big screen. There’s already an update to Android 10 with One UI 2.0.
