HTC Corporation is a popular technology company based in Taiwan and the company is known for manufacturing smartphones, smart accessories, and other consumer electronics. Over the year, HTC’s presence in the smartphone market has reduced significantly as the Taiwanese company has not been able to keep up with the high pace and competitiveness of the global market. However, in recent years, they have released some pretty nice entry-level and mid-range smartphones at a relatively affordable price. The company has launched the HTC Wildfire E3, which comes as the latest addition to the Wildfire E series.

The HTC Wildfire E3 comes with a big battery, a large display, a quad rear camera setup, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor amongst others. This is an entry-level smartphone focused more on affordability rather than premium features so don’t expect it to blow your mind.
The Wildfire E3 comes in as the successor to the former HTC Wildfire E2 that was launched in the 3rd quarter of the previous year. When compared to its predecessor, the Wildfire E3 comes with a bigger battery, more storage, and a better camera system. After these, there are not many changes as the phone still had the same processor and battery capacity.
In this article, I’ll be sharing the HTC Wildfire E3 specs and price as well as everything you need to know about the newly released smartphone. Without taking much more of our time, let us get right into today’s article.

Design and Body
Coming to this department, HTC decided to go with a simple approach and give the phone a basic design that is common among entry-level smartphones. It looks bland but at least, it is an upgrade from its predecessor which had a terrible design.
The phone comes in a uni-material body made out of plastic. Being made out of plastic, the phone doesn’t feel premium in the palm but it is very durable and will not get shattered as easily as glass. The body has a thickness of 9 mm and it weighs about 186 grams, this makes the phone feel a bit bulky.

On the rear, there is the quad camera setup with three cameras grouped in a long pill-like bump around vertically and one camera in a small circular bump beneath that, with an LED flash beside the cameras. There is also HTC’s branding at the center and a fingerprint sensor above it for biometric authentication.
On the sides, there is the power button and volume rockers at the right with the SIM card slot being at the left.
Display
Coming to the display, the HTC Wildfire E3 comes with a large 6.52 inches IPS LCD display that has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1560 pixels with a 264 pixels per inch density. The display is quite basic in terms of features as there is no fancy high refresh rate, deep contrast colors, etc.
There is a water drop notch at the top center that helps to house the selfie camera. Around the screen, there are noticeable bezels, especially at the bottom chin. As for protection, there is no one on the screen so you’ll need to get a tempered glass screen protector to prevent the screen from scratches and easy damage.
The display is quite large so watching movies and playing games is going to be a good experience.
Processor and Memory
On the inside, the HTC Wildfire E3 draws its power from the entry-level MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. The octa-core chipset features four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and another four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. It is built on a 12nm fabrication process which is a little efficient in power consumption.
The chipset is paired with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU. It can offer decent performance when playing games that are not graphics hungry and performing other simple day-to-day tasks.

The processor comes with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot for expanding the storage but it is shared with the second SIM slot.
Software
On the software front, the HTC Wildfire E3 runs on Android 10 OS straight out of the box.
Camera
Coming to the camera department, HTC was quite generous with the number of cameras this phone has as there is a quad rear camera system and a single front-facing camera.

The quad rear camera setup features a 13MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF, an 8MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP macro camera with f/2.4 aperture, and a 2MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture. The ultrawide camera helps to give a wider view while the macro and depth cameras help to take close-up shots and add bokeh to images.
The rear camera has an LED flash to help in dark environments and it can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second.
On the front, there is a 13MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture tucked in the water drop notch at the top center. It can only record videos in 720p resolution at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
There is a 4,000 mAh non-removable battery backing the HTC Wildfire E3. It can last an average user up to a full day of usage while performing regular day-to-day activities.

As for charging, unfortunately, there is no support for fast charging. The phone will take well over 2 hours to charge from 0% to 100% which is really disappointing.
Network and Connectivity
The HTC Wildfire E3 comes with support for 4G LTE network and it supports the following LTE bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 38, & 40.
The phone comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5 (a/b/g/n/ac), Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2 (A2DP, LE), GPS (A-GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BDS), and FM Radio. There is a USB Type-C port with On-The-Go support for charging and data transfer.

HTC Wildfire E3 Price
The HTC Wildfire E3 price starts at around $100 for the base 4GB 64GB model and it can go up to $130 for the top-of-the-line 4GB 128GB model.
