Nokia 6.1 which can be also called Nokia 6 (2018) is the successor to the Nokia 6 launched by HMD Global in 2018. The Nokia 6.1 comes with some notable upgrades when comparing it to its predecessor. Nokia 6.1 specifications and features will be working in this post, I’ll be doing a review of whether it is worth buying in 2020.

Design and Body

The Nokia 6.1 has a durable and fashionable build, it has a 6000 series aluminium back, a 6000 series aluminium frame and a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the front. The phone is quite slim with it having a thickness of 8.15 mm and it weighs 172 grams so it is not heavy.
At the back, you’ll find the rear camera and also the fingerprint sensor which is below the camera.
Overall, the build and design of this phone are very good.

Display

At the front of the Nokia 6.1, there’s a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with a FHD+ resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and an amazing 403 pixels per inch density. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is resistant to scratches.

Processor and Memory

The Nokia 6 (2018) is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor which clocks at 2.2 GHz for carrying out daily tasks coupled with Adreno 508 GPU for gaming and graphics-related activities.
The phone comes with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM and either 32GB or 64GB built-in storage. The configuration are 3GB RAM 32GB ROM, 4GB RAM 32GB ROM and 4GB RAM 64GB ROM.

Camera

In the camera department, the Nokia 6.1 and its predecessor are very similar in terms of physical looks.
At the back, there is a 16MP camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) alongside a LED flash which helps in low light situations. The rear camera can record 4K UHD videos at 30 fps.
On the front, there is an 8MP camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture which can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.

Network and Connectivity

The Nokia 6.1 has support for 4G LTE which give you access to fast blazing internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps when downloading and 50 Mbps when uploading. It supports the following 4G bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41.
The phone comes with Bluetooth 5.0, WiFi 5, WiFi Direct, GPS, NFC, FM Radio and WiFi hotspot.

Battery and Charging

Nokia 6.1 or better still Nokia 6 (2018) has a 3,000 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery. The phone has support for 18W fast charging which can charge the phone to 50% in 30 minutes. The phone utilises a USB type C port for charging.

Software

Nokia 6.1 runs on Android 8 Oreo under the Android One project and is upgradeable to Android 10.

Final Verdict:

Nokia 6.1 is still a good buy in 2020 as it even runs on the latest Android OS, Android 10 and also it still gets monthly security updates. The Nokia 6.1 costs about $100 now in 2020 and it is still worth buying.
