Gionee M6 is the successor to the 2015’s Gionee M5 which was one of the smartphones with the most battery capacity. The Gionee M6 is coming with an improved processor, better display, a fingerprint sensor and dedicated security chip. However, the Gionee M6 has a reduced battery capacity compared to its predecessor. In this article, I’ll be writing the specs of the Gionee M6 and I’ll also be doing a review stating if it is worth buying in 2020.

Design and Body
The Gionee M6 has a full metal body which is more durable and fashionable than the plastic of its predecessor the Gionee M5. The phone is 8.2mm thick and weighs about 180 grams, it is slimmer and lighter than the predecessor. Overall, the build is of high quality and durable.

Display
The Gionee M6 sports a 5.5 inches Super AMOLED display with a FHD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and an amazing 401 pixels per inch density. There’s no mention of any protection on the screen.
Processor and Memory
Gionee M6 is powered by an octa-core Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 SoC which features 4 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.0 GHz. The chipset is coupled with Mali T860 MP2 GPU for gaming and graphics-related activities.
The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
Camera
The Gionee M6 features a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and Phase Detection Auto Focus. The rear camera can record 1080p Full HD videos at 30 fps.
At the front, there’s an 8MP camera sensor for taking nice selfie shots.
Network and Connectivity
Gionee M6 has support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast blazing internet speeds when browsing and downloading. It has support for the following 4G band 1(2100), 3(1800), 7(2600), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500). It also comes with Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, WiFi Direct, GPS, WiFi hotspot and infrared port. There’s also a micro USB 2.0 port which supports OTG feature.
Battery and Charging
The Gionee M series has always been a large battery capacity series. Gionee M6 has a 5,000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The phone has support for 10W fast charging and reverse charging.
Software
The Gionee M6 runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Amigo UI 3.5 skin on top.
Final Verdict:
The Gionee M6 is still a good phone in 2020 if you plan on not using it for heavy tasks. The phone comes with pretty much battery that will still last. Apart from those, the Gionee M6 is not worth buying in 2020. I’ll suggest you get a more recent smartphone which brings up to date specs and software.
