Oppo has just launched the Oppo Pad Air 2 which comes in as the direct successor to the Oppo Pad Air which was launched more than one year ago. The Oppo Pad Air 2 continues the Oppo’s dedication to the budget tablet market, and this comes a few days after the launch of the Oppo A2. The new tablet comes with a better display, bigger battery, faster charging, etc. Here, we’ll take a look at the features of the new Oppo Pad Air 2.

Oppo Pad Air 2 Features

Upfront, you would definitely notice the slightly larger screen as the Oppo Pad Air 2 now has an 11.35-inch display. The display has a 2.4K resolution of 2480 x 1720 pixels and 260 pixels per inch density. The display now has a 90Hz high refresh rate with a 180Hz touch sampling rate, and it can reach 400 nits of peak brightness.
The design of the tab is pretty simple as there is a dual-tone finish on the rear panel, and the corners are rounded.

Under the hood, the Pad Air 2 draws its power from the MediaTek Helio G99 chipset which is not a bad option for a budget tablet. It is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of fast UFS 2.2 internal storage. Unfortunately, there is no micro SD card slot to expand the storage.

The Oppo Pad Air 2 is backed by a humongous 8,000 mAh battery that should last you throughout the day. The tablet comes with support for 33W fast charging via its USB-C port.

Most tablets rarely focus on the camera but it is good to see an improvement there as Oppo upgraded the selfie camera to an 8MP sensor. On the rear, there is another 8MP single camera which is the same as last year’s version.

One sad thing to see is the absence of a 3.5mm headphone jack in this market segment. The tablet supports Dolby Atmos with a quad stereo speakers setup. As for connectivity, there’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.2.
The tablet is only available in two colors: Space Gray and Streamer Silver.
