Oppo is a Chinese technology company owned by BBK Electronics and it is known for making smartphones, smart accessories, and other consumer electronics. Over the years, Oppo has made a name for itself by releasing relatively affordable smartphones to compete with every other phone at any price point. The Oppo A57s has been launched by the Chinese company and it is the latest addition to the Oppo A57 series.

The Oppo A57s comes in as a more affordable and less premium version of the original Oppo A57 that was launched a couple of weeks ago. The phone now has a large display, a big battery, and fast charging support but with noticable downgrades for the processor.



In this article, I’ll share with you everything you need to know about the newly released Oppo A57s. Let’s get right into it.

First off, let’s talk about the processor which got a downgrade. On the inside, the phone is now powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 SoC that has a maximum clock speed of 2.3 GHz. It is built on a 12nm fabrication process and is coupled with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.

The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GG of internal storage with support for storage expansion via a micro SD card slot. Oppo added the RAM extension features which help to increase the RAM virtually by up to 100% using free internal storage.

Upfront, the Oppo A57s sports a 6.56 inches IPS LCD display that has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels and 269 PPI density. It has a typical brightness of 480 nits with it being able to reach a peak of 600 nits under extreme situations. The screen is protected by Panda Glass.

On the front, there is a water drop notch that houses the 8MP selfie camera. On the rear, there is a dual camera setup that features a 50MP main camera and a 2MP monochrome camera with an LED flash. Both the selfie and rear cameras can record videos in up to 1080p resolution at 30 fps.

As for connectivity, the Oppo A57s comes with support for 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 5, GPS, and NFC. It also has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The phone has stereo speakers with support for Dirac 3.0 audio. Last but not the least, there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It also has IP54 certification.

On the inside, the Oppo A57s is backed by a 5,000 mAh non-removable battery that has support for 33W fast charging via its USB Type-C port. Oppo claims that it will take the phone from 0% to 100% in only 69 minutes of charging.
As for color options, the phone is available in Starry Black and Sky Blue.
