Honor 100 launched with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 and 100W charging


Honor is a Chinese technology company, and it is known for its smartphones that are always priced competitively. The Honor 100 has been launched and it debuts the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The phone also comes with 100W fast charging, and it debuts the custom RF C1 chip that will improve calls and general connectivity.

The Honor 100 has many exciting features like the new chipset, super fast charging, and a beautiful display.

Upfront, you’re greeted by a 6.7-inch OLED display that has a resolution of 1200 x 2664 pixels and 120 Hz high refresh rate. It uses a 10-bit panel so it can show up to 1B colors and it supports HDR. As for brightness, it can reach a peak of 2,600 nits which is truly impressive. The screen is curved at the edges which is something that is not bad or good but just depends on what the user prefers. Beneath the display, there is a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.

Under the hood, the Honor 100 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 unveiled a couple of days ago. The chipset has one Cortex-A715 core clocked at 3.15 GHz and three more clocked at 2.4 GHz with four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The Adreno 720 GPU is paired with this chipset and significantly improves graphics performance.
The phone comes with either 12GB or 16GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage with no room for expansion. As for software, it runs MagicOS 7.2 on top of Android 13.

To enhance performance, there is a VC cooling solution with a 4,674 sq mm total area in only a 0.35 mm thin component. This will help to prevent overheating so the chipset doesn’t throttle when performing intensive tasks like gaming.

On the rear, there is a dual camera setup that features a 50 MP main with Sony IMX906 sensor f/1.95 aperture and OIS and a 12 MP ultrawide shooter with 112 degrees FoV. On the front, there is a 50MP sensor with f/2.1 aperture for all your selfie needs, it is tucked in the tiny punch hole cutout at the top of the screen.

The Honor 100 is backed by a 5,000 mAh battery which is now common in many smartphones in today’s market. However, it shows its class by bringing 100W charging, and also, the company will provide you with the super-fast adapter in the box.

Now, let’s talk about the new custom Honor C1 chip which is said to improve connectivity, call quality, etc. Honor claims that this chip will improve internet connection in tough situations like being in the elevator or subway. It will let you have smooth calls even on fast trains.
There is 5G support as expected, and it comes with NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6E. There are four color options to pick from: Black, Blue, Purple, and White

Honor 100 Price and Availability

The Honor 100 price starts at $350 for the base 12GB/256GB model, $400 for the mid 16GB/256GB model, and $450 for the high-end 16GB/512GB model. The phone is available for sale in China right now, but global pricing and availability are yet to be unveiled.
