Following the launch of the MediaTek Dimensity 9300, MediaTek has continued with the launch of the MediaTek Dimensity 8300. The MediaTek Dimensity 8300 comes in as the direct successor to the Dimensity 8200 launched close to a year ago. The new chipset comes with many improvements across the board; better GPU, CPU, power efficiency, and all that. Here, I’ll show you all of the new features that the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 comes with.

MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Features

Talking about the CPU, the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 is based on the recent ArmV9 architecture, and it has eight cores. It features 4 Cortex-A715 performance cores clocked at 3.35 GHz and 4 Cortex-A510 efficiency cores clocked at 2.2 GHz. With these, MediaTek claims that this chipset offers up to 20% faster CPU performance and 30% greater power efficiency at peak when compared to its predecessor.
Now, let’s move on to the graphics performance, the processor comes with the ARM Mali-G615 MC6 GPU. The company claims that graphics performance is improved by 60% and there is 55% better power efficiency at peak.

With all these, the Dimensity 8300 is said to offer up to 17% faster app cold launch and 47% faster app launch from standby. The processor also brings power efficiency improvements at certain tasks with up to 7%, 8%, 11%, and 25% better efficiency when recording videos, chatting, performing daily tasks, and gaming respectively.

The processor comes with support for quad-channel LPDDR5X RAM at 8,533Mbps speeds. It also supports UFS 4.0 storage with MCQ.
AI is the order of the day now, and the chipset brings its A-game to this department as it comes with the MediaTek APU 780. This supports Generative AI, which many midrange chipsets miss out on. It is much better at AI tasks when compared to its predecessor.

The Dimensity 8300 comes with the Imagiq ISP which supports up to 320MP camera sensors, and can record 4K HDR videos at 60 fps. There is support for WQHD+ displays at 120 Hz and FHD+ displays at 180 Hz.
The chipset comes with an integrated 5G modem that supports dual-mode 5G and up to 5.17Gbps downlink speeds on sub-6GHz networks. There is Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity as well.

It won’t be long before we see the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 in action as the chipset is going to make its debut on the Redmi K70E later this month.
