Two new improvements that WhatsApp has unveiled aim to enhance user privacy within the service. The first function on WhatsApp lets you block incoming calls from unknown numbers, and the second effectively acts as a privacy check for users. Users of iOS and Android devices can now access the newly released features.
WhatsApp blocks unauthorized calls
This function will effectively allow you to quiet incoming calls on WhatsApp. Thus, it is very self-explanatory. Given that WhatsApp is commonly used in India for both calling and messaging, this feature can be helpful, especially if you dislike getting calls from alarming numbers.

Go to WhatsApp > Settings > Privacy > Calls > Silence Unknown Callers to enable this.
Any calls from unknown numbers will be immediately hushed once you enable this option. However, you can still see these calls in WhatsApp’s calls tab and in your notification center. In this manner, you won’t be bothered and will still be informed of the caller’s identity.
Check your WhatsApp privacy.
As the name implies, WhatsApp Privacy Checkup thoroughly walks you through each app’s privacy options. Use the same route to use the privacy checkup tool on your phone. When you arrive, click “Start checkup,” after which a selection of privacy options will be displayed for you to choose from.

You may control your personal information, chat privacy, who can contact you, and other privacy-related options here. In essence, WhatsApp has gathered several privacy options under one relevant category. You can determine who can add you to groups, block contacts, and silence incoming calls, for instance, under the privacy setting that controls who can contact you.
Similar groupings can be found for other privacy options. Although you may still verify each setting manually, this section offers you a more practical way to modify privacy settings.
