Upfront, there is a 5.9 inches OLED display that has an FHD resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate with a 240Hz touch sampling rate. It has a peak brightness of 1,100 nits with about 800nits at 100% APL. It also has support for HDR10+. The display covers 112% of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut and 151 9% of the sRGB color space. There is an Always On mode and it supports DC dimming when you reduce the brightness level. The screen is protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

The design of this phone is one of its great features as it comes in a small & compact body making it one of the smallest Android flagship smartphones. It weighs about 165 grams and is about 9.5 mm thin. It has an aluminum frame with a rear panel that is made of a new polymer material which Asus says is more durable than plastic and glass. Of course, the phone is also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.
The power button now doubles as a fingerprint sensor as opposed to the in-display sensor on the Zenfone 8 and it is also a smart button to perform actions using gestures.

The main camera can be used for 2x lossless zoom to make up for the lack of a telephoto camera. The ultrawide camera can take macro shots at 4cm thanks to its AutoFocus, it also has support for hyperSteady stabilization. Asus says the gimbal OIS on the main sensor is 3x more effective than regular OIS so videos are more stabilized and images less prone to shakes.
