Apple iPhone 6S Plus was one of Apple’s flagship smartphone for the year 2015. The iPhone 6S Plus also known as iPhone 6S+ was launched alongside the iPhone 6S and they are the successors to the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S+ from the previous year. The iPhone 6S+ was a great phone at launch and it’s still a good phone now in 2020. In this article, I’ll be doing a review of the iPhone 6S Plus in 2020 and telling you if it’s worth it.

Design and Body
Apple has been known for making smartphones with great designs and trust me the iPhone 6S Plus does not disappoint. The phone comes in an aluminium body. The phone looks like the iPhone 6 Plus but it’s just a bit thicker and heavier. The aluminium build is very durable. If you’re a fan of 16:9 aspect ratio, you’ll still like this phone design in 2020.
The display of the iPhone 6S+ is just as good as its design. It comes with a 5.5 inches IPS LCD display with a FHD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and 401 PPI density. The screen uses an ion strengthened glass that has an oleophobic coating so there are no fingerprint smudges. The phone has a 3D touch display which is a pressure sensing technology that lets you access different features depending on how light or hard you press the screen. The display is still great in 2020 so this is not a deal-breaker.
Processor and Memory
The iPhone 6S+ features the Apple A9 chipset which Apple claims have 70% faster CPU and 90% faster graphics. The Apple A9 chipset is still a good chip now as it will perform like another new mid-range chip. The iPhone comes with 2GB of RAM (the first iPhone to have that) and either 16GB or 32GB or 64GB or 128GB built-in storage with no expansion. I’ll advise you to get either the 64GB or 128GB model.
The iPhone 6S Plus has a 12MP rear camera for taking photos and videos. The camera still performs well in 2020 but don’t expect much from it. The iPhone can record 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p videos at 30 to 120 fps.
On the front, we have a 5MP camera for all your selfie and FaceTime needs. The camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
Network and Connectivity
The Apple iPhone 6S+ has support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps when downloading and browsing. The iPhone supports the following 4G LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 38, 39, 40, 41. The iPhone comes with Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band WiFi, GPS, NFC and WiFi hotspot.
Battery and Charging
The battery on the iPhone 6S Plus is a 2,750 mAh non-removable Li-Ion one. The battery promises up to 384 hours standby time, 24 hours talk time and 80 hours of music playtime. The phone has the usual lightening connector for charging. You’ll have to change the battery if you’re getting it now and most times it must have been replaced.
The iPhone 6S+ runs on iOS 9 out of the box and is upgradeable to iOS 13.5 now. It will still get iOS 14 when Apple launches it. The fact that you’ll get a new software update shows that it’s still worth it in 2020.
iPhone 6S Plus Price in Nigeria
The Apple iPhone 6S Plus price in Nigeria starts at 70,000 Naira to 120,000 Naira depending on the storage size and if it’s used or refurbished.
iPhone 6S Plus Review in 2020
iPhone 6S Plus is still a good phone to buy in 2020. Despite it being more than 4 years since it’s launch, the iPhone 6S+ has been a great phone till now. The phone will get one more software update so you’ll have no software issue.
