Apple, the American technology giants released the iPhone 8 Plus alongside its smaller variant, the iPhone 8 in 2017. The iPhone 8 Plus, the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X were all launched alongside each other. The iPhone 8 Plus still has the same premium design all Apple iPhones have and comes with a newer and better processor. The iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone 8 is the successor to the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 launched the year before. In this article, I’ll be writing on iPhone 8 Plus specs and price in Nigeria. I’ll also be doing a review about iPhone 8 Plus in 2020 telling you if it is still worth buying.

Design and Body
Apple did a lot of work concerning the design and build if this phone, as the iPhone 8 Plus has a premium all glass build with an aluminium frame. The glass used is a Corning Gorilla Glass which is scratch resistant and Apple claims it to be the phone with the most durable glass on any phone as at then.
The phone is also IP67 certified meaning it is water and dust resistant and can survive in 1 metres deep water for 30 minutes. The phone is a little bulky as it weighs 202 grams but it is quite slim at 7.5 mm. There is a dual stereo speaker grille below the chin which has great audio quality. As you know, the phone has a front mounted fingerprint sensor on the home button for unlocking.
The iPhone 8 Plus sports a 5.5 inches Retina IPS LCD display with a FHD resolution of 1080×1920 pixels and an amazing 401 pixels per inch density. The screen uses an ion strengthened glass that has oleophobic coating which prevents fingerprint smudges. The display has a 625 nits max brightness with 3D touch. The display has wide colour gamut and true tone.
Processor and Memory
Apple uses a new A11 Bionic chipset in this phone which they claim is the fastest processor in any phone as at then. The iPhone 8 Plus is powered by the new A11 Bionic chipset which offers better performance and is also power efficient. The phone uses Apple GPU for gaming and graphics related activities.
The iPhone comes with 3GB of RAM and either 64GB or 256GB built-in storage with no option to expand it.
Apple offers a dual rear camera on the iPhone 8 Plus which features a 12MP wide camera sensor with Phase Detection Auto Focus and Optical Image Stabilization and a 12MP telephoto camera sensor which gives 2X optical zoom. The dual rear camera can record 4K videos at up to 60 fps and 1080p videos at up to 240 fps.
At the front, there is a 7MP standard camera sensor with f/2.2 aperture for taking cool selfies.
Network and Connectivity
The iPhone 8 Plus has support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast blazing internet speeds of up to 600 Mbps when downloading and surfing the web. It supports the following 4G bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 29, 30, 34, 38, 39, 40, 41, 66.
It comes with speedy dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and Bluetooth 5.0 for wireless connectivity. It has NFC for Apple pay and other payments.
Battery and Charging
iPhone 8 Plus comes with a 2,691 mAh non removable Li-Ion battery. It has support for 15W fast charging which charges the phone to 50% in 30 minutes. It also supports Qi wireless charging making it the first iPhone to ever support wireless charging.
The Apple iPhone 8 Plus runs on iOS 11 out of the box and is upgradeable to iOS 13.6.1, the latest iOS version.

iPhone 8 Plus price in Nigeria starts at around 165,000 Naira to 220,000 Naira if you want to buy it. The price of iPhone 8 Plus starts at $299 on top international online stores like Amazon.

The iPhone 8 Plus is still a good phone to buy in 2020 as it is still sleek, smooth and has great performance. The phone will still get over 3 years of Apple support so it is a good future proofing smartphone. The camera performance is still okay. Overall, the iPhone 8 Plus is still worth buying in 2020.
