Since HMD Global started making Nokia smartphones in 2017, they’ve made a lot of cool smartphones which caught people’s attention. The Nokia 7.2 is one of those phones, the Nokia 7.2 is a very nice mid-range smartphone with amazing specs released in September 2019. The Nokia 7.2 is the successor to the Nokia 7.1 that was released in 2018. In this article, I’ll be doing a review of the Nokia 7.2 in 2020, telling you if it is still worth buying. Design and Body
The design of this phone is very classy and attractive, the body build material is also of high quality. On the front and back, you get the state of art Corning Gorilla Glass 3 which is scratch resistant. The phone has a plastic frame as opposed to the aluminium frame that gives phones a premium feel. The phone back houses the triple rear camera and a LED flash with the fingerprint sensor below it for security. The phone could’ve had bezels less display if Nokia decided to not have their brand on the chin. The phone has a tiny waterdrop notch at the top, you can hide the notch if you don’t like it.
Display
The Nokia 7.2 features a 6.3 inches IPS LCD display with a FHD+ resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and a 400 pixels per inch density. The phone display is very sharp and crisp, you should enjoy watching movies on it. The phone screen supports HDR10 which is a feature only flagships have. It also has the always-on display feature.
Processor and Memory
The Nokia 7.2 comes with a pretty decent mid-range processor that should be able to perform any task you throw at it including heavy games and apps. The octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is the one on this phone which has a maximum clock speed of 2.2 GHz coupled with Adreno 512 GPU is in charge here.
The phone comes with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB built-in storage. The configurations are 64GB 4GB RAM, 64GB 6GB RAM and 128GB 6GB RAM.
Camera
The camera on this phone has been one which has been catching our attention. The triple rear camera features a 48MP wide-angle camera, a 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 5MP depth camera. The phone rear camera can record 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p videos at 30 fps also with gyro-EIS.
On the front, there is a 20MP camera for all your selfie needs, the camera takes super nice selfies. The front camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
Network and Connectivity
The Nokia 7.2 comes with support for 4G LTE network which lets you have access to fast internet speeds of up to 300 Mbps when downloading and surfing the web. The phone has support for the following 4G bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41. However, the US and India version has support for other 4G bands.
The phone comes with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi, GPS, NFC, FM radio, WiFi Direct and WiFi hotspot.
Battery and Charging
The phone comes with a pretty good battery but not huge. The Nokia 7.2 has a 3,500 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The battery is expected to last you a whole day.
The phone has support for 10W fast charging which is fast but not as fast an 18W fast charging.
Software
Nokia 7.2 runs on Android 9 Pie under the Android One initiative by Google. It is upgradeable to Android 10 via OTA update.
Nokia 7.2 Review in 2020
The Nokia 7.2 is still a good phone to buy in 2020. The phone display is very sharp and crisp, the camera is great, the processor is fast and it runs on the latest Android version and will still get one more Android update. The phone has made its way to one of the best mid-range phones for vlogging in 2020. The phone is worth buying in 2020.
