Design and Body
Huawei must have spent lots of time designing and creating the body of this phone as it is very premium. The Huawei Mate 20 has a high-end glass build on the front and back with an aluminium frame which gives it a premium feel when held in your hands. The glass used is scratch resistant but is not specified if it is a Corning Gorilla Glass. The phone has a notch at the top which they called a “dewdrop” notch. At the rear, you’ll find the triple rear camera and a fingerprint sensor below it. The phone weighs 188 grams and has a thickness of 8.3 mm.
Huawei made this phone have a larger screen than the non-pro variant so you can get large without paying the high price. Huawei Mate 20 features a 6.53 inches IPS LCD display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080×2244 pixels and 381 pixels per inch density. The phone has support for HDR10 so you’ll enjoy a crisp and clear display.

When it comes to performance, the Huawei Mate 20 was one of the top performers in 2018. The Mate 20 is powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset that has a maximum clock speed of 2.6 GHz coupled with Mali G76 MP10 GPU for gaming and graphics-related activities. The processor is built on a 7nm fabrication process which is power efficient and reduces heating.
The phone comes with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage with a Nano Memory card slot available.
As you know, Huawei’s flagship has been one of the best camera smartphones out there and trust me this one didn’t disappoint. The Huawei Mate 20 has a triple rear camera setup that features a 12MP wide camera, an 8MP telephoto camera for 2X optical zoom and a 16MP ultrawide camera. The rear camera can record 4K videos at 30 fps, 1080p videos at up to 60 fps and 720p videos at up to 960 fps.

Coming to the battery department, the Huawei Mate 20 has a huge 4,000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The battery is expected to last you for a whole day even if you are a heavy user. The phone has support for 22.5W fast charging and according to Huawei, the phone will charge to 58% in just 30 minutes using the fast charger.
Huawei Mate 20 runs on Huawei’s own Emotion UI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie.
Huawei Mate 20 Review in 2020
The Huawei Mate 20 is still a good phone to buy in 2020 as it’s processor is still top-notch. However, Huawei has placed on the entity list by the US so they won’t be able to use Google services anymore. Overall, the Huawei Mate 20 is still worth buying in 2020. You can sideload the Google app if you want them.
