A few days back, Lenovo held a conference in Beijing, the capital of China. At this conference, the company officially launched the Lenovo YOGA T500 Play, a smart projector. The YOGA T500 Play has a hundred-inch projection area, cinema-grade immersive sound, a large built-in battery, and other key features which will be discussed in this article. The Lenovo YOGA T500 is priced at CNY 2,999 which is equivalent to about $470. As for now, you can grab this smart projector for just CNY 2,699 (≈$424) as Lenovo is giving a discounted price for its launch. Lenovo is also selling other accessories you would need including a stand and a screen.

The design of the Lenovo YOGA T500 Play is very simple yet astonishing, it has a champagne gold top with a light gray textured mesh and a cherry white body. It has a 3D fabric panel section which allows for easy cleaning and a more penetrating sound.

Despite being small in size, the YOGA T500 Play has an excellent sound quality with a pair of 2 inches 10-watt neodymium-iron-boron internal magnetic speakers. It is also accompanied by dual passive radiators and a large sound cavity. As a plus, you can use this smart projector as a standalone Bluetooth speaker for up to 10 hours.

Under the hood, the Lenovo YOGA T500 Play is powered by the quad-core Amlogic T972 high-end chipset that offers up to 55% less power consumption. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. There are lots of smart temperature control features including a fan so overheating should not be a concern. The smart projector had a USB-C graphic interface so you can connect your PlayStation, Switch, or smartphone using a cable.

As for image presentation, the Lenovo YOGA T500 Play has up to 100 inches of projection area with a resolution of 1080p HD and 85%+ NTSC color gamut coverage. It can decode 4K cinema-grade videos, HDR10+ videos, and HLG videos. The smart projector supports the Lenovo EEP Intelligent Picture Enhancement Engine, which adds brilliant color effects to the image with clarity.

Every projector has a light source and the YOGA T500 Play uses a DLP projection technology with RGB+B four-way high brightness LED. The T500 Play can adjust its brightness to match the ambient lighting in its surroundings thanks to the new Cat’s Eye intelligent light-sensing technology. The smart projector has 3 seconds of fast focus and a 4-point keystone correction function, to ensure that the image projected is square and perfect.

Like I said in the title, the Lenovo YOGA T500 Play has a built-in Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 22,500 mAh. As for battery life, it can last for up to up 5 hours of watch time equivalent to 3 movies in a row.
