Oppo A77 4G launched with a 50MP camera and 33W fast charging


Oppo is a popular technology company based in China and it is known for releasing relatively affordable smartphones that offer great value for money. Oppo is owned by BBK Electronics which also owns other popular smartphone brands like OnePlus, Vivo, etc. Oppo has launched the Oppo A77 4G and it comes as the latest addition to the budget-friendly Oppo A-series.


The Oppo A77 4G comes in as the more affordable version of the Oppo A77 5G that was launched a few months back in June. The A77 4G obviously misses out on support for 5G networks as well as other premium features like a high refresh rate and a more powerful processor.

In this article, I’ll share with you everything you need to know about the newly launched Oppo A77 4G, its price, full specifications, and features. Without wasting much of our time, let’s get right into today’s article.

Oppo A77 4G

Diving into the features of this phone, it is obvious that this is a budget-friendly lower mid-range smartphone.


Upfront, there is a large 6.56 inches IPS LCD display that has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels with 269 PPI density. It has a 60Hz standard refresh rate which is a downgrade on the 90Hz high refresh rate of its 5G counterpart. It has a water drop notch at the top center which houses the selfie camera.

Under the hood, the Oppo A77 4G is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio G35 (12nm) chipset that has a maximum clock speed of 2.3 GHz coupled with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.


The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot so you can easily expand the storage if need be.
On the software front, the Oppo A77 comes running on ColorOS 12.1 based on Android 12.

Coming to the cameras, there is a dual rear camera setup with an LED flash that features a 50MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and a 2MP depth camera. It can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
On the front, there is an 8MP selfie camera tucked in the water drop notch at the top center.


On the inside, the Oppo A77 4G is backed by a 5,000 mAh non-removable battery. When the battery eventually runs low, there is support for 33W fast charging via the USB Type C port. Oppo claims that the fast charging will take the phone from 0% to 100% in only 69 minutes of charging which is great for a lower mid-range smartphone.

There is only support for 4G LTE networks as Oppo decided to get 5G connectivity removed to achieve a more affordable price. The Oppo A77 4G comes with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS, and NFC.


As for the build, the phone comes in either a full plastic body or a leather/body with it having a plastic frame and a leather back. The phone comes in two colors: Sky Blue and Sunset Orange with the latter having a leather back and the former having a full plastic body. Also, the phone has IP54 certification so it is dust and water-resistant.

As of launch in India, the Oppo A77 4G price comes in at just $195 or INR 15,499 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage model which is the only model available.
