TCL is a Chinese technology company that is known for manufacturing smartphones, televisions, tablets, and many more. TCL has launched the TCL 30 XL which comes as the latest addition to the TCL 30 series.

The TCL 30 series was unveiled a couple of months ago and it hosts some of the best phones that TCL has released.
The TCL 30 XL comes with a decent camera system, a large display, a huge battery, and the latest Android OS.
In this article, I’ll share the TCL 30 XL review and everything else you need to know about the phone. Let’s get right into it.

Display
Upfront, the TCL 30 XL sports a 6.82-inch IPS LCD display that has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels with a 263 PPI density.

It has a water drop notch at the top which is kind of outdated in 2022. Overall, the display is not great. I’d loved a higher resolution and higher refresh rate but I guess that’s not easy at this price point.
Design and Body
Looking at the phone, it is common knowledge to acknowledge that it looks good and TCL designed it well. However, you feel disappointed once you hold the phone in your hands.
The phone comes in a plastic body that has a thickness of 9.1 mm and weighs about 204 grams. It has a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel for biometric authentication.
Processor and Memory

On the inside, the TCL 30 XL draws its power from the MediaTek Helio A25 (12nm) chipset. It is an octa-core chipset that has a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz. It is paired with the PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
The processor is coupled with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
The processor is not powerful to run heavy apps smoothly but you should have no problem with light day-to-day apps.
Software
The TCL 30 XL comes running on Android 12 with TCL UI 3.0 skin on top. It is not known yet if there’ll be a major software update in the future.
Camera

On the rear, the phone has a quad camera setup. It features a 50MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture and PDAF alongside a 5MP ultrawide camera with 115° FOV, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera. It can record videos in up to 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
On the front, there is a 13MP camera tucked in the water drop notch for taking selfies and video calls. It can also record videos in 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
The TCL 30 XL is backed by a huge 5,000 mAh battery. It should last you throughout the day even with fairly heavy usage.

When the battery is eventually low, it has support for 18W fast charging via its USB 2.0 Type-C port.
Network and Connectivity
There is support for 4G LTE on this phone and it supports the following LTE bands: 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 25, 26, 41, 66, and 71.
The phone comes with Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, and FM radio.
TCL 30 XL Price and Availability

The TCL 30 XL price is set at $189.99, it can be gotten for much less as there are lots of discounts offered by the company. It is available on TCL’s official stores as well as on Amazon.
