Design and Body

Looking at the images of the Tecno Camon 16 Premier, you’d see the incremental upgrade from its predecessor. The redesign is a good step because people weren’t satisfied with the predecessor design. However, the huge square-shaped camera bump is another issues but not so much to call it a deal-breaker. This phone is made of plastic which makes it look cheap when compared to its competitors. At the sides, you’d find the volume rockers and the side-mounted fingerprint sensor which also doubles as the power button.

Display

The display got a noticeable upgrade when comparing it to its predecessor. The Tecno Camon 16 Premier sports a 6.9 inches IPS LCD display with a FHD+ resolution of 1080×2460 pixels and 374 PPI density. The display has a cutout at the top left to house the selfie cameras ditching the motorised pop-up camera used in the predecessor. The 90 Hz high refresh rate lets you enjoy smooth scrolling and better gaming. The phone has minimal bezels at the top and bottom, you can enjoy a full screen. The phone screen has no protection of ant kind which is not good. And also, the display is not colour accurate as it should.

Processor and Memory

The processor on this phone shows that this is a true mid-range smartphone like I said before. The Tecno Camon 16 Premier is powered by the gaming-centric MediaTek Helio G90T octa-core processor which has a maximum clock speed of 2.05 GHz. This is the same processor found on the Infinix Zero 8. The processor is built on a 12nm fabrication processor and is coupled with Mali G76 MC4 in charge of graphics and gaming.
The Camon 16 Premier comes with 8GB of RAM for good multitasking and 128GB built-in storage. It has a dedicated micro SD card slot meaning you can still expand the storage without sacrificing any SIM slot.

Battery and Charging

The battery on this phone is good enough not very huge. The Camon 16 Premier has a 4,500 mAh battery which is not removable. The phone is expected to last you a whole day. Tecno Camon 16 Premier Review

Taking a look at the specs sheet, everyone can conclude that it is a good phone but the specs sheet doesn’t translate to better performance. The Tecno Camon 16 Premier has some deal breakers you should watch out for if you’re buying it, which are:
• The HiOS skin which is filled with ads and bloatware.
• The display that looks watched out and not colour accurate.
• The cameras which perform below expectations.
• The cheap plastic body.
• Low chances of major software updates.
If you can deal with the deal breakers then the Tecno Camon 16 Premier is a good phone for you.
