After lots of teasing, Tecno has finally launched the Camon 16 as the direct successor to the previous Tecno Camon 15. It was launched alongside the Camon 16 Premier, Camon 16 Pro, and Camon 16S. Design and Body

The design of the Camon 16 is a bit similar to the more expensive Camon 16 Premier, except for the placement of the fingerprint sensor and punch hole. It comes in a nice polycarbonate body with texture. Coming in at 207 grams with a thickness of 9.2 mm, it is a bit bulky. The rear houses the quad-camera setup, a fingerprint scanner, and Tecno’s branding.

Display

The Tecno Camon 16 sports a large 6.8 inches IPS LCD with a resolution of 720 x 1640 pixels and 263 pixels per inch density. The resolution here is quite low considering the display size. The display has a punch hole at the top left corner housing the selfie camera.

This chipset has been proven to be great for midrange smartphones that need great gaming performance. It comes with just 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage with micro SD card support.

Coming to the camera department which is the main selling point of all Camon series smartphones, the Camon 16 has a quad rear camera setup. The quad rear camera setup features a 64MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, a 2MP depth camera, and an unknown camera. It can record videos at up to 1440p at 30 fps.
On the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera with AutoFocus and HDR. The selfie camera has a dual-LED flash which helps in low light environment. It can record 1080p at 30 fps.
