Display
Looking at the “plus” in the name, this phone has the biggest screen of all the three phones released together. Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus features a 6.4 inches Dynamic AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution of 1440×3040 pixels and 522 PPI density. It has the infinity-O design to houses the selfie(it’s not an O design now but a pill like design as it houses two cameras). The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 which is scratch-resistant and durable. This phone display comes with HDR10+ support and has the always-on feature. If you notice, the fingerprint sensor is not on the back like it’s predecessor because it has been moved under the display. It is the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor that Samsung used.
Design and Body
Samsung decided to go with a totally new and different design for the Galaxy S10 series. The phone doesn’t have the trendy notch nor a pop-up camera but it has a cutout for the dual selfie camera. The phone has very little bezels at the top and bottom, it has a 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone comes in a glass/aluminium body with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 on the front, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 at the back and an aluminium. However, the 1TB model has a ceramic body with ceramic both at the back and frame. The phone weighs 175 grams which is not so bulky but the ceramic variant weighs 198 grams. Another good thing here is that the 3.5 mm audio jack is still present.
Processor and Memory
Samsung still continues the act of using two different processors for this series depending on the region. In the US or China, the S10 Plus has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset while in the EMEA or LATAM region, the S10+ has an Exynos 9820 chipset. In performance, they should be alike but the Qualcomm chipset is more power-efficient. This phone comes with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and either 128GB or 512GB or 1TB built-in storage. The configurations are 8GB RAM 128GB storage, 8GB RAM 512GB storage and 12GB RAM 1TB storage.
Camera
Coming to the camera which is one of the top features of this phone, the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has a triple rear camera setup. The triple rear camera setup features a 12MP wide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera for zooming and a 16MP ultrawide camera for a wider view. The rear cameras can record 4K videos at 30 or 60 fps, 1080p videos up to 240 fps and 720p videos up to 960 fps.
At the front, there’s a dual selfie camera which has a 10MP main camera and a 8MP wide selfie camera. The selfie camera can record 4K videos at 30 or 60 fps.
Battery and Charging
Coming to the battery, Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus comes with a 4,100 mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery. The phone has support for fast charging up to 15W, fast Qi/PMA wireless charging up to 15W and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. You can charge it via the USB type C port or wirelessly.
Network and Connectivity
Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has support for 4G LTE network which lets you access fast blazing internet speeds of up to 2000 Mbps when downloading and browsing. The phone supports the following 4G bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 32, 38, 39, 40, 41, 66(global version). The US version supports other 4G bands. The phone comes with Bluetooth 5.0, dual-band WiFi 6, GPS, FM radio (region dependent), NFC, WiFi Direct and WiFi hotspot.
Software
The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus runs on Android 9 Pie with One UI out of the box and is upgradeable to Android 10 with One UI 2.0. This phone is among the Samsung smartphones that will get three years of major software updates.
