Design and Body
By holding the phone, you’d know it’s a budget smartphone because it is made of plastic. I guess Samsung decided to use plastic as a way to cut costs and it is not back because many budget smartphones are made of plastic. The A10s has a thickness of 7.8 mm and it weighs about 168 grams, it is not a bulky device. The phone has minimal bezels at the top and bottom thanks 19:9 aspect ratio and the dewdrop notch Samsung used.
Display
The Galaxy A10s display is not a special one as it features a 6.2 inches PLS TFT display with an HD+ resolution of 720×1560 pixels and 271 PPI density. The display looks cheap so don’t expect a flagship-grade display quality here.
Processor and Memory
The Samsung Galaxy A10s is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 processor which is a substantial upgradeable over the Samsung Galaxy A10. The Helio P22 processor features 4 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and another 4 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz coupled with PowerVR GE8320 in charge of graphics.
The Galaxy A10s comes with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on which region you’re in coupled with 32GB built-in storage irrespective of your region. It has a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage if the need arises.
Camera
Coming to the camera, the Samsung Galaxy A10s has a dual rear camera setup which features a 13MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture and 2MP depth camera with f/2.4 aperture. The dual rear cameras can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
At the front, there’s is a 8MP selfie camera which is also an upgrade from the 5MP on the Samsung Galaxy A10. The selfie camera can also record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
The Galaxy A series has been coming with a fairly huge battery and the Galaxy A10s still continues the trend. The Samsung Galaxy A10s has a 4,000 mAh battery which is not removable. The battery is expected to last you throughout the day. The phone doesn’t support fast charging but it doesn’t charge so slow. It is bundled with a 5W charger.
Network and Connectivity
Samsung Galaxy A10s has support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast internet speeds when downloading and browsing. It has support for the following 4G bands: 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 38, 40, 41. The A10s comes with Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, WiFi Direct, GPS, FM radio and WiFi hotspot. Software
The Samsung Galaxy A10s runs on Android 9 Pie with One UI skin on top out of the box. It is now upgradeable to Android 10 with One UI 2.0 skin on top. This phone is expected to get Android 11 so it’s future-proofed a little.
