Whatsapp “Mute Always Options For Chats” & Multiple Device Features

Whatsapp for Andriod lately received a new update on the beta mode which allows users to mute any chat right from the notification bar. . Earlier, the whatsapp group video call limit was increased to 8 users, nowits the mute feature. The feature was designed to show up when users have at least 51messages from a single chat.


The new mute features come in handy when you are trying to ignore a message temporarily. According to WaBetaInfo, The feature appears within the mute notifications within any given chat and replaces the 1-year option in the setting.

This upcoming development was spotted in version 2.20.197.3, and it is still in development. Aside from the mute function, there is also an expected upcoming ‘expiring message’ and ‘multi-device access’ as disclosed by WaBetaInfo. This 2 new feature started testing lately in beta release with Andriod beta 2.20.197.4 and it was reported all expiring messages will be automatically deleted from a chat after a period of 7days.

The multi-device, on the other hand, has received a new UI since the time of testing and it brings new linked options to the 3 dot menu. Tap on the options button brings a section on the app list of device and gives the user access to choose from linked devices.

Finally, WaBetaInfo also highlighted details about the upcoming  ‘Advanced Search Mode Feature’ which will allow users to select tags like Audio, Video, Documents, Gifs while looking for items sent or received in a chat.
