It can show important alerts, activities, and notifications, and you can tap and hold to gain access to controls. Despite being smaller, the pill-shaped notch still houses the 3D sensor needed for Face ID.

Design

The design of the iPhone 14 Pro does not change much when compared to its predecessor, the iPhone 13 Pro. It still has the same premium finish with the same flat stainless steel frames. The phone is now a bit thicker due to the presence of new camera sensors. This is visible on the rear panel as you can easily see the cameras are now bigger.

Processor and Memory

The iPhone 14 Pro now powers the new Apple A16 Bionic chipset. It has a 4nm node architecture and is a noticeable upgrade over the previous A15 Bionic. This allows the chipset to decrease the power consumption while still having top-class performance.

The A16 Bionic chipset has a 6-core CPU with two high-performance cores and four power-efficiency cores. Apple claims that it can offer up to 40% better performance. It has a new 5-core GPU that Apple says offers a 50% improvement in graphics performance. There is a new 16-core Neural Engine that offers better AI and ML performance.

The iPhone 14 Pro comes with 6GB of RAM. It is available in four storage options which are 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.

Camera

The iPhone 14 Pro has a 48MP “quad-pixel” sensor main camera on the rear, this is the first time an iPhone is having more than 12MP. The main camera has an f/1.78 aperture with a 1.22μm pixel size (2.44μm after pixel binning). It has a full-focus pixels and second-gen sensor-shift stabilization. When taking photos with the main camera, the phone shoots in 12MP due to pixel-binning technology. Due to its high resolution, the main camera can offer 2X lossless zoom which is perfect for Portrait Mode shots.

Apple is very great at computational photography, and they took it to a next level with the new Photonic Engine. It offers improved low light performance, better color, enhanced details, and better overall quality of photos.

Battery and Charging

The iPhone 14 Pro comes with a 3,200 mAh non-removable battery and Apple promises an all-day battery life.
