Umidigi, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has launched the Umidigi F2, their flagship smartphone of the year 2019. Umidigi might not be one of the mainstream smartphone OEMs you hear of every day but they are underrated. The F2 is one of the first phones to run on Android 10 out of the box which is a great feature for this budget-friendly mid-range smartphone. With its price starting at $179.99, the Umidigi F2 is a game-changer, with it offering premium features at a mid-range price. It is the successor to the previous Umidigi F1 from the last year.

Display
Coming to the display which is one of the top-selling points of this phone, the Umidigi F2 sports a 6.53 inches FullView IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 394 PPI with a 19.5 by 9 aspect ratio. The display has a punch-hole at the top left corner that houses the selfie whilst allowing for a full view experience.
Design and Body
The Umidigi F2 comes with a stunning design that is very attractive. The front is a beauty to behold thanks to the punch-hole which allows for more screen real estate. The rear is also amazing as it houses the quad-camera and the company’s branding. The body is made of premium plastic and it has a thickness of 8.7 mm and weighs about 215 grams which is the bulky side. On the side, you’d find the power button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner for biometric security.
Processor and Memory
Powering the Umidigi F2 is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 (12nm) SoC which has a maximum clock speed of 2.1 GHz coupled with the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It comes with an ample 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
Camera
On the rear, is the quad-camera setup that features a 48MP f/1.8 main camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 5MP depth camera. On the front, is the 32MP selfie camera tucked perfectly in the punch-hole at the top left corner.
When it comes to video recording, both the rear and selfie camera can record 1080p or 720p videos at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
The battery is also one of the top highlights of the Umidigi F2 as it comes with a massive 5,150 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery. As for charging, it has support for 18W fast charging.
Network and Connectivity
Umidigi F2 supports 33 global bands so you can connect to the local mobile network where you are. It has 4G LTE, 3G & 2G network support. It comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, NFC, and FM radio. Also, it has a USB 2.0 type C port with OTG support for charging and data transfer.
Software
On the software side, the Umidigi F2 comes running on the latest Android 10 Q with no modifications straight out of the box.
