The Umidigi F1 has finally been launched after lots of rumors, leaks, and teasing by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Umidigi. Umidigi F1 boasts of a substantial amount of amazeballs features the phone boast of, despite being an affordable midrange. In this article, we’ll explore the specs and features of the Umidigi F1, its price starts at $179 at launch, which is relatively affordable. It was later succeeded by the Umidigi F1 Play and Umidigi F2.

Display
The display on the Umidigi F1 is a 6.3 inches IPS LCD with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels and 409 pixels per inch density and an aspect ratio of 19.5 by 9. It has a waterdrop notch at the top center which allows for more screen real estate.
Design and Body
Umidigi F1 comes in a nice metal body with a rubber covering to give it a more comfortable feel and grip in the hands. It has a thickness of 8.8 mm and weighs about 186 grams which is not that bulky. At the rear, you’d find the dual-camera setup, Umidigi’s branding, and the fingerprint scanner for biometric security.
Processor and Memory
Powering the Umidigi F1 is the octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 (12nm) chipset which has a maximum clock speed of 2.0 GHz coupled with the Mali-G72 MP3 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and an ample 128GB of internal storage with micro SD card support.
Camera
The dual-camera setup at the rear features a 16MP main camera and an 8MP depth camera for bokeh effects with a dual-LED flash. It can record 1080p and 720p videos at 30 fps. On the front, is a 16MP camera for all your selfie and video calls need. The selfie camera is also used in 2D face recognition.
Battery and Charging
Coming to the battery which is one of the top-selling points of this phone, the Umidigi F1 boasts of a 5,150 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. As for charging, it has support for 18W fast charging which helps reduce charging time significantly.

There’s support for GSM, CDMA, HSPA, EVDO & LTE networks on the Umidigi F1 and it supports the following LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26, 28, 34, 38, 39, 40, 41. It comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 4.2, full-features NFC, and FM radio. Also, it has a USB 2.0 type C port with OTG support for charging and data transfer.

On the software front, the Umidigi F1 runs on stock Android 9 Pie with no modifications or overlays straight out of the box.
