Design and Body
The Umidigi A9 Pro is a nice budget smartphone and it comes with a body made of glass and metal. It has the 2.5D glass at the back and front with a metal frame. The phone weighs about 213 grams and has a thickness of 8.6 mm. At the rear, you’d find the fingerprint sensor and “Umidigi” branding asides the quad-camera setup. It also has an independent customizable shortcut key. The phone feels a bit premium in the hands thanks to its glass/metal body.
Display
The new budget smartphone has a 6.3 inches IPS LCD display with an FHD+ resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and 401 PPI density. It has a 19·5:9 aspect ratio. Also, it still has the dot drop notch at the top which some people don’t like.
Processor and Memory
Umidigi A9 Pro is powered by the octa-core MediaTek Helio P60 processor which features 4 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and another 4 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz also. It is coupled with Mali G72 MP3 in charge of gaming and graphics-related activities.
It comes with 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB built-in storage. It also has a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
Camera
Coming to the camera department, the Umidigi A9 Pro has a quad rear camera which features a 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra-wide camera, 5MP macro camera and 5MP depth camera. However, you will get a 32MP instead of 48MP of you’re buying the 4GB+64GB model, so take note. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
At the front, you get a 24 megapixels camera for your selfie and video calls. The selfie camera can also record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
In this department, the phone didn’t get any substantial upgrade when compared to its predecessor. It still comes with a 4,150 mAh battery that is not removable. Umidigi says the battery will last for you for up to 2 days. As for charging, it is still stuck at 10W fast charging. It has a USB type C port for charging.
Network and Connectivity
Umidigi A9 Pro has support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast internet speeds. It supports 33 global LTE bands so you can connect to the network regardless of where you are. It comes with Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi display and GPS. It also supports OTG.
Software
Coming to the software, Umidigi A9 Pro runs on Stock Android 10 out of the box.
