HMD Global has unveiled the Nokia C12, and it is the latest addition to the budget-friendly Nokia C series. The Nokia C12 is the successor to the Nokia C10 which was launched in early 2021, close to two years ago.
The Nokia C12 is the latest budget offering from Nokia. It runs on Android 12 Go and it has a 6.3-inch display, 64GB storage, and a 3000 mAh removable battery.
In this article, I’ll share the Nokia C12 price in Nigeria, specs, and review, so you’re well informed about the phone. Let’s get right into today’s article without wasting much of our time.
Nokia C12 Key Specs
- 6.3-inch HD+ IPS LCD display
- Unisoc SC9863A1 SoC
- 2GB of RAM
- 64GB of internal storage
- 8MP single rear camera
- 5MP selfie camera
- 3,000 mAh removable battery
- 4G LTE network support
Surprisingly, the Nokia C12 has a smaller display than most phones in the C-series, and I think I love that.
Upfront, there is a 6.3-inch display that uses an IPS LCD panel, and it has an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The screen utilizes unbranded scratch-resistant glass. The display has an outdated water drop notch with large bezels which is not pleasing to the eyes.
As for the design, Nokia decided to keep things super simple as the phone comes in a polycarbonate body with a grippy texture. The material is very durable but it lacks the premium feel of glass. The body has a thickness of 8.8 mm with a weight of 177 grams.
Nokia says the phone is splash resistant. It is rated IP52 but I’ll say you keep it far away from water.
The phone has a removable back panel which allows you to change batteries easily.
Processor and Memory
On the inside, the Nokia C12 draws its power from the octa-core Unisoc SC9863A1 SoC. It is built on the obsolete 28nm node. It has eight Cortex-A55 cores, four high-performance cores at 1.6 GHz, and four high-efficiency cores at 1.2 GHz. It is paired with the PowerVR IMG 8322 GPU.
The processor is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage with no micro SD card slot. You can get an additional 2GB of virtual RAM to keep up with large apps and games.
The Nokia C12 is running on the Android 12 Go edition. It is a light version of Android that is perfect for entry-level smartphones with small RAM and poor processors.
Nothing is exciting in the camera department as you only get a basic rear and front-facing camera.
The single rear setup features an 8MP camera with Auto Focus and a LED flash. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera tucked in the water drop notch.
Battery and Charging
The phone doesn’t do great in the battery department which is where all budget-friendly phone shine.
The Nokia C12 is backed by a 3,000 mAh removable battery, and somehow, Nokia tags it with “all-day battery life”.
Charging is as slow as a snail, it maxes out at just 5W and also charges via the outdated micro USB connector.
Network and Connectivity
The Nokia C12 is a 4G smartphone, and it comes with Bluetooth 5.2, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, and FM radio. It comes with GPS for navigation. There is also a 3.5 mm headphone jack for plugging in wired headphones.
Nokia C12 Price in Nigeria
The Nokia C12 price in Nigeria is set at around 60,000 Naira. It will be available very soon through Nokia’s official stores.
The price is a rough conversion from the official price of €120 that the phone launched with, in Austria and Germany.
