Design and Body
The design of the Huawei Y7 is a simple one but the build quality is great. It comes in an aluminum body which is very durable. It has a thickness of 8.4 mm and weighs about 165 grams (including the battery). The phone feels good in the hands as it is not bulky. It is available in only two colors which are Grey/Prestige and Gold/Silver.
Display
Coming to the display which is the first thing you see on a phone, the Huawei Ascend XT2 comes with a 5.5 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels and 267 pixels per inch density. Unfortunately, the display doesn’t have protection of any kind.
Processor and Memory
Huawei Ascend XT2 is powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.4 GHz. The Adreno 505 GPU is in charge of gaming and graphics-related activities.
It comes with 2GB of RAM which is “ok” for multitasking and 16GB built-in storage. It has a micro SD card slot for expanding the storage but you it is shared with the 2nd SIM slot so you can’t use 2 SIMs and a SD card at the same time.
Camera
Coming to the camera department, the Huawei Ascend XT2 has a single rear camera that is a 12 megapixels camera with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF. The camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
At the front, we have a 8 megapixels camera for taking selfies and video calls.
Battery and Charging
Coming to this department, the Huawei Y7 has a huge 4,000 mAh Li-Ion battery that is not removable. The battery is huge and should last you a whole day even with heavy use. It has a micro USB port for charging. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support fast charging.
Network and Connectivity
The Huawei Ascend XT2 has support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast internet speeds when downloading and browsing. It comes with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS, and FM radio. It also supports OTG (On The Go). The Huawei Ascend XT2 is only available on AT&T carrier but the Huawei Y7 is factory unlocked to work with any carrier.
Software
As for software, the Huawei Ascend XT2 runs on Android 7.0 Nougat with EMUI 5.1 skin on top.
