Xiaomi has launched the Redmi K70E, and it’s the most affordable of the Redmi K70 series which comprises Redmi K70 and K70 Pro. Being the more affordable device, the Redmi K70E features are not as fancy as its siblings but it is capable in its own right. In fact, you may find it hard to differentiate from its siblings by just looking as they have similar designs but different specifications. In this article, we’ll discuss the Redmi K70E specs, price, and features.
Xiaomi Redmi K70E Features
One of the main differences is the choice of chipset, the Redmi K70E debuts the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 Ultra which was launched a couple of days ago. The chipset is a decent option for the price range of this phone.
The phone comes with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB of fast UFS 4.0 internal storage. There is no micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
To maintain top performance, there is a 5,000mm² stainless steel vapor chamber for cooling the chipset to avoid throttling.
The display of the Redmi K70E is decent. It is a 6.67-inch OLED 12-bit panel with a 1220p resolution and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The display can show up to 68.7 billion colors, and it supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The screen has a 120 Hz refresh rate with a 480 Hz touch sampling rate and 1,920 Hz PWM dimming to protect the eyes from soreness.
Beneath the display, there is a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
Now, let’s talk about the camera as that is the department where we saw Xiaomi save cost relative to its siblings. There is still a triple camera setup but it now features a main camera with a small 64MP sensor with OIS. Alongside the main camera, there is an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.
On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera tucked in the tiny punch hole cutout at the top. As for video recording, the main camera maxes out at 4k30 while the selfie goes to 1080p60.
In the battery department, there is something interesting, despite being more affordable, the Redmi K70E has a slightly bigger battery than its siblings. There is a 5,500 mAh battery, and it supports 90W charging which is fast but not as fast as the 120W on its siblings. The 90W charger is expected to take the phone from 0% to 100% in just 34 minutes of charging. To handle fast charging and battery life management, Xiaomi equips the phone with custom P2 and G1 chips.
The Redmi K70E comes running on Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14. The phone comes with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, an IR blaster, and 5G support.
As for color options, you can get the phone in Ink Feather, Clear Snow, and Shadow Green.
