Xiaomi has not relented in pushing out affordable smartphones through Redmi, and now it has launched the Redmi 13C 5G. The Xiaomi Redmi 13C 5G comes a couple of weeks after the Redmi 13C was launched as a LTE-only smartphone. The 5G version comes with some noticeable improvements over the normal with one of them being a slightly better processor. In this article, we’ll cover the Xiaomi Redmi 13C 5G specs, price, and features.
Xiaomi Redmi 13C 5G Features
First, let’s talk about the new chipset which enables 5G connectivity. The Redmi 13C 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ which is built on a 6nm node. It has two high-performance Cortex-A76 cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and six efficiency Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz. It is paired with the Mali G57 MC2 GPU.
The phone comes with 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of fast UFS 2.2 internal storage. It also has a dedicated micro SD slot so you can expand the storage further.
Upfront, the phone sports a 6.74-inch IPS LCD with an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass, and it can reach up to 600 nits of brightness. It has a tiny waterdrop notch at the top centre which houses the 5MP selfie camera, a downgrade from the 8MP on its non-5G counterpart.
On the rear, there is a dual camera setup that features a 50MP main camera and an unnamed secondary camera.
On the inside, the Redmi 13C 5G is backed by a 5,000 mAh non-removable battery. It comes with support for 18W PD fast charging via its USB-C port but you only get a 10W charger in the box.
There is a fingerprint scanner embedded in the power button for power authentication.
On the software side, the Redmi 13C 5G runs on Android 13 with MIUI 14 skin on top. There is also splash and dust resistance but there’s no detail on the IP certification.
