Samsung is not only known for its large share of the smartphone market, but it is also a big force in the monitor market. Over the years, Samsung has launched fantastic gaming and professional monitors. Now, Samsung has launched four new monitors for gamers and professionals at the start of CES 2023.

Each of them is unique and comes with a particular skill set that sets them apart from the fierce competition in the market. Out of the four new monitors by Samsung, two are made specifically for gaming, one for professional work, and one for casual use.

Samsung Odyssey Neo G9

The Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 is one of the gaming monitors unveiled. Samsung claims that it is the world’s first dual UHD gaming monitor.

The Odyssey Neo G9 (Model Name: G95NC) features a large 57-inch panel that has a 32 by 9 aspect ratio. It has a high refresh rate of 240Hz with a resolution of 7280 x 2160 pixels (equivalent to two 4K UHD panels side by side). The high refresh rate ensures you miss out on nothing when playing your favorite games.

The display is curved with a 1000R curvature so you can enjoy an immersive experience when gaming. The screen uses quantum mini LED technology and it is VESA Display HDR 1000 certified. The screen also has a matte coating to lower reflections.

This flagship gaming monitor has the first DisplayPort 2.1 (UHBR13.5) connector in the world. It has a bandwidth of 54Gbps which is way better than anything presently available. Due to this new addition, the monitor supports This new DP 2.1 allows for lossless lossless industry-standard Display Stream Compression (DSC) to transmit information without less compression and distortion.

The Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 is the second gaming monitor unveiled; unsurprisingly, it is a more affordable alternative.

The Odyssey OLED G9 (Model Name: G95SC) features a large 49-inches OLED panel that has a 32 by 9 aspect ratio. It has a high refresh rate of 240Hz with a 0.1 Ms response time for smooth and lag-free gaming. It has a resolution of 5120 x 1440 pixels (equivalent to two 1440p panels side by side).

The display has a 1800R curvature so you still enjoy an immersive experience when gaming. However, this more affordable model missed out on the more future-proof DisplayPort 2.1.
You get all the perks available with OLED panels like true blacks, high contrast ratio, and per-pixel local dimming.

There is support for Smart Hub here so you can use apps like YouTube, Netflix, and Prime Video without needing a computer. Samsung Gaming Hub platform is also available here so there’s support for Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia GeForce Now.

Samsung ViewFinity S9

The Samsung ViewFinity S9 is the third monitor to be unveiled and it is the only one for creative professionals.

The ViewFinity S9 (Model Name: S90PC) features a 27-inch LCD panel that has a 5K resolution of 5120 x 2880 pixels. The panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and has a Delta E of ≤2 for color accuracy. It has a matte coating to reduce reflections.

For most professionals, this is good enough but if you still want to tweak the colors, you can use the built-in Color Calibration Engine. It allows you to calibrate the display to your taste.

The Samsung ViewFinity S9 comes with a USB-C and Thunderbolt 4 port for connecting it to other computers and devices like cameras. The monitor comes with a bundled 4K SlimFit camera. Samsung Smart Hub is available. It allows you to attend video conferences using apps like Google Meet without needing a connected computer.

Samsung Smart Monitor M8

The Samsung Smart Monitor M8 is the last monitor to be unveiled. It is a multipurpose monitor that can be used for professional work, entertainment, and even as a television.

The Smart Monitor M8 (M80C) features a 27-inch LCD panel with a 4K Ultra HD resolution.
The monitor comes with an integrated SlimFit camera that has a 2K resolution. It can be used for video conferencing with apps like Google Meet.
It has support for SmartThings Hub which lets you connect all your smart home devices. YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, and other media playback apps are also available.

As of yet, there are no details on pricing and availability as that will be revealed later on.
