Samsung is a popular technology company that is known for manufacturing smartphones, smart accessories, laptops, televisions, and other consumer and non-consumer electronics. Based in South Korea, Samsung is arguably the biggest company in the global smartphone market and that feat is surely going to last for a long while. Samsung manufactures smartphones for every price segment and this is one of the reasons it is a prominent force. After lots of teasing, Samsung has finally launched the Samsung Galaxy F62 in India.
The Galaxy F62 comes in as the latest addition to the mid-range Galaxy F-series known for its extremely great value for money. The Galaxy F62 comes as the second smartphone in the new Galaxy F-series that was created before. It follows the Samsung Galaxy F41 which was the first smartphone that was released under the F-series.

Display
Coming to the display which is the part of a smartphone where we interact with most, the Samsung Galaxy F62 does live up to the expectations of a great mid-range smartphone.
The phone sports a 6.7 inches Super AMOLED display that has an FHD resolution of 1080 x 2400 with 393 pixels per inch density. It has a peak brightness of 420 nits which is a bit on the lower side but I reckon it will do just well. The display covers 110% of the NTSC color space and it has a 1000000:1 contrast ratio. The content looks vivid and detailed with deep blacks and punchy colors.
The display has a 20 by 9 aspect ratio with a tiny punch-hole cutout at the top center to house the selfie camera. It has very small bezels around the sides with it managing an 86.7% screen-to-body ratio. Unfortunately, there is no certified protection so a tempered glass screen protector will be needed.
Design and Body
Samsung has a specific design template for its mid-range to entry-level smartphones and the Samsung Galaxy F62 is based on that. Due to that, there are some similarities between this phone and other budget-friendly smartphones that Samsung has released before.
The phone comes in a nice body made out of plastic material. It has a lovely dual-tone finish on the back with the bottom part having a near-white color. The body has a thickness of 9.5 mm and it comes in at a weight of 218 grams. This is not surprising as a phone with this large battery can’t have a slim and light-weighted profile. Also, being made of plastic, the phone is very durable.
On the rear, there is a quad camera setup with an LED flash in a square bump at the top left, and Samsung’s branding close to the bottom. The rear panel is where you’ll see many similarities between this phone and other smartphones from the South Korean company.
On the sides, you’d find the volume rockers and power button on the right with the SIM/SD card slot being on the left. The power button doubles as a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication.
The phone is available in three color options and they are Laser Green, Laser Gray, and Laser Blue.
Processor and Memory
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy F62 is powered by the octa-core Exynos 9825 chipset which debuted on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+.
The octa-core chipset features two Exynos M4 cores clocked at 2.73 GHz, two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2.40 GHz, and 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.95 GHz. It is built on a 7nm fabrication process which is power efficient.
The chipset has the Mali G76 MP12 GPU for gaming watching videos and performing other graphics-intensive tasks.
The processor is coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and only 128GB of internal storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.
Software
On the software front, the Galaxy F62 runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on top.
Camera
Coming to the cameras, Samsung ensures the phone is not lacking as it has a quad rear camera and a single front-facing camera.
The quad rear camera setup features a 64MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 12MP ultrawide camera with f/2.2 aperture, and two 5MP cameras, one for macro and one for depth.
The camera can record videos in 4K resolution at 30 fps, and 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
The selfie camera has a 32MP sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 26mm equivalent focal length. It can also record videos in 4K resolution at 30 fps and 1080p resolution at 30 fps.
Battery and Charging
Coming to the battery which is one of the top features of this phone, there is a massive 7,000 mAh non-removable battery inside the phone.
As for charging, the phone has support for 25W fast charging via its USB Type C port. On a good day, this is quite fast but looking at the huge battery, it will take quite some time to charge to full. One good thing though is that there is support for reverse charging so you can charge your other devices with the phone’s large battery.
Network and Connectivity
The Samsung Galaxy F62 has support for 4G LTE network support and it supports the following LTE bands: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 12, 17, 20, 26, 28, 38, 40, 41, & 66.
The phone comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5(a/b/g/n/ac), Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0(A2DE, LE), NFC, and FM Radio. There is a 3.5 mm headphone jack so you don’t need a dongle.

As of launch, the Samsung Galaxy F62 price starts at around $330 (INR 23,999) and $360 (INR 25,999) for the 6GB RAM 128GB storage and 8GB 128GB storage models respectively.
