Umidigi is a Chinese smartphone and smart accessory manufacturer based in Shenzhen City, China. Umidigi released the Umidigi A5 Pro sometime last year which was one of the top value for money smartphone out there. The phone top selling points include the triple rear camera setup, the large battery amongst others. Umidigi A5 Pro specs and features will be written in this article and I’ll be doing a review if it is worth buying in 2020. The Umidigi A7 Pro has been released some few months back as the successor to the A5 Pro.

Design and Body
Umidigi gave this phone a very elegant design and build despite it being a budget smartphone. The phone has a 2.5D glass at the back and front coupled with an aluminium frame which gives it a premium feel. The Umidigi A5 Pro has a dewdrop notch and bezels less design. The phone has a thickness of 8.2 mm and weighs about 203 grams which is quite heavy. The phone comes with a case in the box which you can use to prevent fingerprint smudges.
Display
The display of this phone is very great, you even get a Full HD+ resolution despite it being a budget smartphone. The Umidigi A5 Pro sports a 6.3 inches LTPS IPS LCD display with a FHD+ resolution and an amazing 400 pixels per inch density. The phone has a 19:9 aspect ratio which allows you to have minimal bezels.
Processor and Memory
The Umidigi A5 Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P23 processor which features 4 cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.5 GHz. The Mali G71 MP2 GPU is in charge of all graphics-related activities here.
The phone comes with 4GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage. You can add an additional 256GB when expanding.
Camera
This phone has a triple rear camera setup which is one of the top-selling points. The triple rear camera setup consists of a 16MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 8MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP depth camera. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.
At the front, there is a 16MP camera with f/2.0 aperture which take clear selfies.
Network and Connectivity
Umidigi A5 Pro has support for 4G LTE network and it also supports all global LTE bands so you can use anywhere in the world. The phone comes with Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, WiFi Direct, GPS and WiFi hotspot. It also allows you to cast display to a TV or laptop using WiFi. The phone has a micro USB 2.0 port which supports OTG feature.
Battery and Charging
The huge battery on this phone is one of the top-selling points also. The Umidigi A5 Pro comes with a 4,150 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. It has support for fast charging of up to 10W so you’ll spend less time when charging the phone.
Software
Umidigi A5 Pro runs on Stock Android 9 Pie out of the box. It didn’t get any official Android 10 update but you can flash Android 10 custom ROM on it.
Other Features
The phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for securing the phone. It also has Face Identification which uses the front-facing camera. The phone has a 3.5 mm audio jack for those who like having the jack on their phones.
Umidigi A5 Pro Review in 2020
The Umidigi A5 Pro is a very good phone to consider in 2020 despite it being a year old right now. The phone comes with some cool features which are still useful in 2020. However, I’ll advise you to buy the Umidigi A7 Pro which has more new features and upgrades.
