Design and Body
The Huawei P30 has a very good design and a very attractive appearance. The smartphone looks dashing from its outlook. The rounded edges and gradient designs express the sleekness of the smartphone.
The phone front and rear are covered in an Aluminosilicate glass and it has an aluminium frame which adds more finesse to it. The phone has an IP53 rating which gives it protection from dust and splash.
The phone has a thickness of 7.6 mm and it weighs 165 grams so holding it in the hands for a long time is no ish.
At the bottom, you’ll find the 3.5 mm audio jack which was absent on the P20, the USB type C port and the speaker grille.
Display
Huawei P30 sports a 6.1 inches OLED display with a FHD+ resolution of 1080×2340 pixels, 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 441 pixels per inch density. The phone supports HDR10 contents on it.
The display is very sharp and crisp so you’ll enjoy watching movies and playing games on it.
Being an OLED panel, it allows for Huawei to place a fingerprint sensor under the smartphone’s display.
Processor and Memory
Huawei P30 is powered by the octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 chipset which features 2 cores clocked at 2.6 GHz, 2 cores clocked at 1.92 GHz and 4 cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. The Kirin 980 chipset is built on a 7nm fab process which is power efficient and reduces heating. The chipset is coupled with Mali G76 MP10 GPU for gaming and graphics-related activities.
The phone comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage with a Nano Memory card slot for expanding the storage in the Global Version. However, other versions have 8GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB or 256GB built-in storage.
Camera
Coming to the camera department, the phone has a triple rear camera which features a super 40MP wide-angle Leica camera with f/1.8 aperture, 8MP telephoto camera which gives 3X optical zoom and a 16MP ultrawide camera. The triple records 4K UHD videos at 30 fps, 1080p videos at 30/60 fps and 720p up to 960 fps. The camera has Optical Image Stabilization when recording videos.
On the front, there’s a 32MP front-facing camera which is fitted in the teardrop notch.

Huawei P30 comes with support for Super Gigabit 4G LTE network which gives you access to super-fast internet speeds of up to 1400 Mbps when downloading and 200 Mbps when uploading.
It comes with WiFi 5 dual-band, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0 A2DP aptX HD & LE, GPS, NFC and WLAN hotspot. It has a USB 3.1 Type C reversible connector for charging and data transfer.
Battery and Charging
Huawei P30 has a 3,650 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The battery will last long because it is well optimized by the 7nm power-efficient processor. As for charging, there’s support for 22.5W fast charging and it comes with a 22.5W charger out of the box. There’s no support for wireless charging.
Software
The Huawei P30 runs on Huawei’s own Emotion UI 9.1 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box and is upgradeable to Emotion UI 10 based on Android 10.
Other Features
The flagship smartphone comes with an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security and it also has Face ID if you want facial recognition.
