Infinix Mobility released the Infinix Hot 6 as the successor to the Infinix Hot 5 back in 2018. The phone came with lots of promising features like the 18:9 aspect ratio which was the trend back then as minimal bezels have taken over. In this article, I’ll be doing a review of Infinix Hot 6 in 2020 and telling you if it is still worth buying.

Design and Body

Being a budget smartphone, the Infinix Hot 6 has a full plastic body just like its predecessor and other budget smartphones. Display

The display on this smartphone is not crisp as Infinix used a 720p panel as opposed to higher resolution panels. The Infinix Hot 6 sports a 6.0 inches IPS LCD display with a resolution to 720×1440 pixels and 268 pixels per inch density. The phone has an 18:9 aspect ratio which allows more screen space in a relatively small body.

Processor and Memory

The Infinix Hot 6 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor which has a maximum clock speed of 1.3 GHz coupled with Mali T720 MP1 GPU for gaming and graphics-related activities. The processor here is a very low-grade processor which might be a deal-breaker for some people.
The phone comes with either 1GB or 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage when needed.

Camera

At the rear, the Hot 6 has a 13MP camera sensor alongside a LED flash which helps in low light situations. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 frames per second.
At the front, you’d find an 8MP camera sensor for taking selfies and video calls. The front camera has a dedicated LED flash which helps when there’s not much light.

Network and Connectivity

The Infinix Hot 6 only has support for 3G network which is expected to open techfashy.com in less than a minute. However, you might experience poor internet speeds when browsing heavily and downloading. This is also another deal-breaker as lots of other budget smartphones have support for 4G LTE.
The phone comes with Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS, FM Radio and WiFi hotspot.

Battery and Charging

Infinix Hot 6 has a 4,000 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The battery capacity might be huge on paper but on a non-power efficient processor, you’d barely know you have a huge battery. The phone has support for 10W fast charging so you should spend less time when charging.

Software

The budget smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo GO edition if you’re buying the 1GB RAM variant and Android 8.1 Oreo if you’re buying the 2GB RAM variant.

Infinix Hot 6 Review in 2020

The Infinix Hot 6 is not a smartphone that is worth buying in 2020 at all. The phone processor and other specs are now outdated and obsolete. Infinix Hot 6 is not worth buying in 2020. There are lots of newer budget smartphones in the market, I’ll advise you to check them out.
