TECNO Mobile has launched the Camon 11 as one of the latest addition to the Camon series alongside the Camon 11 Pro in late 2018. The Camon series has been a camera-centric series so you should expect large MP cameras and good camera performance. In this article, I’ll be writing about Tecno Camon 11 price in Nigeria and specs, I’ll also be doing a quick review at the end of this article whether it is worth buying in 2020.

Design and Body

TECNO Mobile really did a lot of work when designing this phone. The Camon 11 is the slimmest device TECNO had ever made with a visual thickness of 5.6 mm and also lightest with it weighing 150 grams. The phone has the iPhone X type of notch making it the first TECNO smartphone to have a notch and a bit reduced bottom bezels which more screen space. The phone comes in three colour options which include Red, Blue and Black.
The design is very attractive and won’t look bad in 2020.

TECNO Camon 11 sports a 6.2 inches IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 720×1500 pixels, 81.3% screen to body ratio and 268 ppi (pixels per inch) density. The screen has NEG protection according to Tecno’s official information.
The display of this phone is okay but if you want a sharp and crisp display, go for at least a 1080p resolution display.

Processor and Memory

The Tecno Camon 11 comes with an entry-level budget grade processor which is not up to standard looking at the price, I expected a better processor. It features a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset which clocks at 1.5 GHz and is coupled with PowerVR 8100 GPU for gaming and graphics-related activities. The chipset is built on a 28nm fabrication process which is not power-efficient and causes overheating.
The Camon 11 comes either 2GB or 3GB RAM and either 16GB or 32GB built-in storage with a dedicated micro SD card slot for expanding the storage.

The camera of this smartphone happens to be the top-selling point just like other Camon series smartphone.
Tecno Camon 11 has a dual rear camera setup which features a 13MP main camera and a 2MP depth camera which gives bokeh effect in photos. The rear camera can record 1080p videos at 30 fps.

At the front, we have a 16MP AI Clear Selfie camera which produces high-quality selfies. This phone was designed and made for selfies lovers.

Tecno mobile promises ultra clean image quality as it uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) coupled with a 4-in-1 professional re-mosaic algorithm.

Network and Connectivity

The Tecno Camon 11 has support for 4G LTE network which gives you access to fast blazing internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps when downloading. There’s no official information on the 4G bands it supports.
It comes Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, GPS, WLAN hotspot and FM Radio. It has a  micro USB 2.0 port for charging and data transfer.

Battery and Charging

Tecno Camon 11 battery is not very huge, it has a 3,750 mAh non-removable Li-Po battery. The phone uses a processor that is not power-efficient and causes overheating which will even make the battery not last when in intense usage.
As for charging, there’s no official information stating whether it supports any fast-charge technology so you’ll spend time charging the phone when it’s low.

The Camon 11 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with HiOS 4.1 skin on top. Up till now in 2020 there was no software upgrade so it still runs Android Oreo.

Other Features

The Tecno Camon 11 has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and the front-facing camera also supports Face ID for facial recognition biometric authentication.

Final Verdict :

The Tecno Camon 11 is not a good buy and is not worth buying in 2020. No one will love to use a 28nm processor clocked at 1.5 GHz in 2020 still running Android 8 with no software support.
