Apple has unveiled it’s flagship smartphone for this year, talking about the Apple iPhone 8. Design and Body

Apple still continues it’s legacy of having great designs and premium look on their iPhones and trust me the iPhone 8 doesn’t miss out on this. The iPhone 8 comes in an all glass design, with sturdy glass described as the most durable glass ever on a phone on the rear and front, accompanied with an aluminum frame which gives it a premium feel when you hold it. The iPhone 8 comes in new gold, silver and grey finishes. The iPhone 8 weighs about 148 grams and has a body dimension of 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm. The phone is water and dust resistant with IP67 certification.

Display

iPhone 8 comes with a 4.7 inch HD+ Retina IPS LCD display with 16:9 aspect ratio, 65.4% screen to body ratio and 326 ppi density. The display is ion strengthened and has oleophobic coating. The display has a 625 max nits brightness which is a 25% more brighter than the iPhone 6 and offers wide colour gamut. The phone has 3D touch display and home button. This has a True Tone technology that adjusts screen brightness to suit different lighting conditions.

Processor and Memory

In charge of all the tasks in the iPhone 8 is the new Apple A11 Bionic chipset which Apple says is the most powerful and smartest chip in a smartphone as at when it was launched. The CPU is up to 25 percent faster and the GPU up to 30 percent faster, compared to the last generation chip. The iPhone 8 comes with 2GB of RAM and either 64GB or 256GB built-in storage.

Camera

The Apple iPhone 8 offers you a 12 megapixel shooter for capturing images and recording 4K videos at 24 or 30 or 60 fps. This has a wide-angle lens, featuring six elements, that lets you get more people into shots. The aperture size of f/1.8 means you should expect being able to take quality shots in dark settings.
Camera features include Quad-LED True Tone Flash and optical image stabilisation (OIS). Portrait Lighting enhances the quality of shots with effects and more. A 7 megapixel FaceTime HD camera takes care of your quality selfie needs, coming with Retina Flash and auto image stabilisation.

Network and Connectivity

Apple iPhone 8 has 4G LTE network in it for downloading and surfing the web. iPhone 8 comes with a 1821 mAh battery which is not large enough but Apple made up for it by adding fast charge technology that charges it to 50% in just 30 minutes. Apple also made the iPhone 8 offer wireless charging for the first time so it would work with Qi wireless chargers. The battery promises up to 14 hours talk time and 40 hours music play time.

Software

The iPhone 8 runs on iOS 11 out of the box and is upgradeable to iOS 13.5.
