Nokia is a Finnish technology company known for manufacturing smartphones, smart accessories, and other consumer electronics. Nokia used to be a big force in the mobile phone market but with the launch of smartphones, it lagged behind. Microsoft used to own Nokia and the American company launched phones with Windows OS until the brand was sold to HMD Global. They now launch Android smartphones and other smart accessories. HMD Global has launched the Nokia X20 as one of the additions to the new X-series.

The Nokia X-series has just been launched and it will be for sustainable and affordable 5G smartphones. The Nokia X20 is one of the new additions as it was launched alongside the more affordable Nokia X10. As of launch, the Nokia X20 and Nokia X10 are the cheapest 5G smartphones that the Finnish company has to offer.
The Nokia X20 comes with a decent 5G processor, a massive battery capacity, a large beautiful display, and a good enough camera system. The phone slots right into the mid-range section of the smartphone market and it is one of the top options to consider if anyone wants 5G connectivity.
In this article, I’ll share with you the Nokia X20 specs and price as well as everything else you need to know about the newly released smartphone. Without wasting much of our time, let’s get right into today’s article.

Display
Upfront, the Nokia X20 sports a large 6.67 inches IPS LCD display that has an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels with a 395 PPI density. The display has a 20 by 9 aspect ratio so there are noticable bezels around it with the bottom one being more prominent as it has “Nokia” written on it. It also covers 82% of the NTSC color space.
The screen is protected by the state-of-the-art Corning Gorilla Glass 5 which is scratch resistant and immune to easy damage. As for brightness, the display can go as high as 450 nits and there is a feature called Sunlight brightness boost which helps to even increase brightness further when under bright sunlight.
Sadly, there is no high refresh rate as Nokia decided to pass on the feature. At the top of the screen, there is a tiny punch-hole cutout that helps to house the selfie camera.
Design and Body
Coming to the design, Nokia decided to keep things simple so as to keep the cost down. The design is similar to previous Nokia smartphones that have been released. This is not bad as the phone looks quite good enough for a cheap mid-ranger.

The phone comes in a lovely body that is made from a polymer composite material. It is quite durable and feels good in the hands. The body has a thickness of 9.1 and it weighs about 220 grams, this makes the phone not as sleek as other mid-range phones on the market. It also has IPX2 certification.
On the rear, you would find the quad camera system in a ring-shaped bump with a LED flash beside it. There is also Nokia’s branding on the rear panel despite it being on the bottom chin of the display.
On the sides, there is the volume rocker and power button on the right with the Google Assistant button being on the right. The power button has a fingerprint sensor embedded in it so it will be used for biometric authentication.
The Nokia X20 packs a decent body design that features polycarbonate material. The rear panel has a ring shape camera module with an LED flash and Nokia branded logo. It measures 168.9 x 79.7 x 9.1 mm in dimensions and weighs 220 grams.
As for color options, the Nokia X20 is available in Nordic Blue and Midnight Sun.
Processor and Memory
Under the hood, the Nokia X20 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G chipset that has a built-in 5G modem. It is built on an 8nm fabrication process. The octa-core chipset features two Kryo 460 Gold cores clocked at 2.0 GHz and six Kryo 460 Silver cores clocked at 1.8 GHz.
The chipset is paired with the Adreno 619 GPU that offers a good enough performance when gaming or performing other graphics tasks.

The processor is coupled with either 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is a micro SD card slot so the storage can be expanded with ease.
Software
On the software side, the Nokia X20 runs on pure Android 11 OS straight out of the box. Nokia promises 3 years of full software support with OS upgrades and security updates. The phone is now upgradable to Android 12 which is the latest version of Android as of now
Camera
Coming to the camera, the Nokia X20 is not great nor is it terrible. It has a good enough camera performance that any average user will surely appreciate.
The quad rear camera setup features a 64MP main camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The ultrawide camera helps to give a wider view, the macro camera helps to take close-up shots with the depth camera is more of a gimmick.
The rear camera can record videos in 1080p resolution at 30 or 60 fps.

On the front, there is a 32MP selfie camera for all your selfie and video calls need. It can also record videos in 1080p resolution but it is capped at 30 fps.
There are some lovely features available like ZEISS Optics, ZEISS Portrait, ZEISS Cinematic Effects, Dual-Sight, Night mode, Cinema mode, and many more.
Battery and Charging
On the inside, the Nokia X20 is backed by a 4,470 mAh non-removable battery. Nokia says the phone has up to two days of battery life so you don’t have to worry about it running down fast.
As for charging, there is support for 18W fast charging via the USB Type C port.
Network and Connectivity
Like I said earlier, there is support for 5G networks on the Nokia X20. This will ensure you have very fast internet speeds when streaming, gaming, or downloading.

The phone comes with dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, FM radio, and NFC. There is also a USB 2.0 Type C port with On-The-Go support.
Nokia X20 Price
As of launch, the Nokia X20 price starts at €350 and it is available in all Nokia official stores as well as other global online stores like Amazon.
